Edelman & D. Thomas back at practice; Gordon in warmups

Average return to play is 9-11 months depending on type of surgery. Seems borderline.
Take it for what its worth but Emmanuel Sanders just came back from his torn Achilles tonight.

Damien Harris?

Interesting, it looks like D. Harris did a bit of returning as a freshman but not since. I'll be curious to see who returns kicks on Thursday!

DT came came back sooner from his last one. That was 8 years ago. All different.

Nothing is for sure, but if taking a minute to put the fantasy land/best case scenario glasses on for a second.. Imagine a healthy and fully integrated WR group of Edelman, Gordon, Thomas, and Harry?
Damn.
They will never get Jacobi Myers through waivers and onto the practice squad. Thus it's now or never for the Patriots if they hope to retain Myers. So who do you cut? So help me, I think this kid is going to be a stud!

The thought is Berrios or Dorsett will be the odd man out. Edelman, Gordon, Harry, Meyers, and one other to start the year. The scenario of carrying 6 WR to start (not counting Slater) has been tossed around as well given KR/PR duties aren’t set in stone.

With the weak TE position,

Edelman
Gordon
Thomas
Dorsett
Harry
Meyers

is still on track, IMO, though BB will obviously have to decide whether or not to carry that many WRs. Does anyone here (other than Patsfan2, who'd insist to all of us that the 3 month old infant with no limbs was ahead of Dorsett on his depth chart) think Harris or Berrios will beat out anyone on the above list?

Berrios in, Thomas out.

Thomas is camp fodder like washed up veterans that have come before him.

I know that’s a popular thought, but DT could easily Be Belichick’s latest version of a “value” weapon. He has a rough knowledge of the system, and was recently producing.

We all know Belichick collects short shifty white guys the way old ladies collect those cherub figurines from the Hallmark Store. No way he lets one on a rookie contract go in favor of a guy at the end of the line.

I would’ve fully agreed with you prior to Jakobi Meyers.

Still plenty of Manning's HGH lying around up there I see..

Regardless of what happens with Thomas, I don't think Berrios has done anything to show he belongs on an NFL roster yet. His cuts look sloppy to me. Even on his big catch against the Lions, I felt like he took 3-4 extra steps backwards before turning back up field. He's just not crisp enough to be where he needs to be. I don't know if it's a physical limitation or he's thinking too much or what, but he's not there yet.

Seems like a hard working kid, but there's just too many actually capable receivers ahead of him now to waste a roster spot waiting for him to get up to speed. PS would be fine, but I just don't see the potential there that some others see.

Berrios ain't shifty and his game lacks color.

Everyone seems to forget that Matthew Slater is listed as a WR, is 33 years old, is a $2.9 Million cap hit ($2.4 Million cap savings if cut) and is a pure special team player. Somehow he's become a lock?

Barrios is returning punts, an important role that someone needs to fill or else we're back to holding our breath every time Edelman gets creamed during a runback. Brandon Bolden was brought back for his special teams play. Ebner is a special teams ace.

Maybe the WR pool will be minus Matthew Slater?
