???
Hoyer easily can keep the ship afloat if Brady misses 3/4 games. Stidham can't (yet).
Not every injury is a season ender but paying games with the backup QB over roster spot 53 can make it so.
I don’t think he was ever a trash thrown in. We needed an experienced backup that we know can play in our system.Kind of funny, seems like Hoyer has gone from the trash thrown in with the Jimmy G trade, to a vital cog in the organization.

He was not technically traded but was a FA.. He had a poison pill in his contract that would have forced them to pay him $20 million as a backup and he wanted to start which wasn't going to happen in Philly. They released him and he signed a 4 yr deal w JAX.Will never understand their compulsion to trade Foles....I get he is expensive but wentz can't last a season. Mistake will help us somehow this season.
2024. They signed him to a $128 million 4 yr extension...How long until they can cut bait on Wentz? PS, to add to the irony, Wentz = what he shoulda had to do by now, is went. "Carson" is becoming synonymous for "believe it when you see it." Remember thinking Carson Palmer was about to take the league by storm?
neither is Hoyer.
No, I'm telling you Stidham can do what Hoyer can do.so you’re telling me Hoyer can’t win us a couple games if Brady is out? I suppose Bill doesn’t know what he’s doing by keeping him as backup

Eagles, Carson Wentz agree to four-year extension
I smell a Sanchez coming out of retirement.

stidham doesn’t known the playbook whereas Hoyer does. If Stidham has to start like Brissett did as a rookie, Josh will not open the playbook for him like he would Brian Hoyer. Hoyer is ready to fill in for 3-4 games whereas Stidham has to sit at this point.
he doesn't have to. Stidham would be more than fine. He has a lot more natural talent than Hoyer.

BB will need to decide if the incremental difference between Hoyer and Stidham is big enough to cut one additional player. Do we lose a Rivers, Roberts or Dorsett to keep Hoyer? He took the risk with Mallet over Hoyer years ago so I would not conclude that his job is safe just yet. Brady is older now so the calculation is different. Stidham's play the next month could very well determine what happens to Hoyer.
