OT: How Critical Is It to Win the Eagles Game This Season?

No way they win that game. I have it down as a loss. Philly is the deepest team in the league. If the QB stays healthy they will win another Super Bowl.

I also have it down as a loss but this is a little excessive. We could definitely just win 27-10.

The Dream Team says hi. :p

NCAA

Not critical at all..

Secondary seems suspect. Darby and McLeod are both coming off major injury. D-line should be stout though. Can Wentz stay healthy? Hasn’t played a playoff game, can he keep up when the stakes are high? Peters at LT hasn’t played since 2017, and is 37 years old coming off ACL/MCL tears. Howard and Sanders are expected to carry the running load, but one averaged 3.7 ypc last season and is coming to a new team, the other is a rookie. They have their question marks like anyone else, with or without Wentz.

On the road in a hostile environment. Against the team that beat you in the Super Bowl 21 months earlier. A win could somewhat be closure (Unless the Pats get revenge and beat them in Miami). A loss means media pundits will say the Eagles are in the Pats heads.

Will you consider this a "critical" game? Or will it just be one of 16 to you? Maybe I'm overthinking things. Lol.

Non-conference game. In terms of importance, it's pretty low on the list.

I’d rather be the team that smacks the Giants around, gets Eli benched, and informally ends his career.

Steve Burton, is that you?

I'd like to see us use the "philly special" on them. Exact same illegal formation so afterwards idiot clickbaiters can point out how we shouldn't have won this game. Then we can all laugh at them because the "philly special" was an illegal formation play.

Nobody cares to talk about it, but can you imagine the outrage if we had done that? It would never end.

This sets up a pretty funny opportunity: let the TV announcers in on it in their normal pre-game conversation, then run the play, have the announcers bring up the fact that Philly ran it to success in the SB, have the official throw the flag and make the call, and have the announcers have to acknowledge what just happened.

I doubt Belichick or McDaniels would ever do something distracting like that. But I would. :)

You are overthinking. Any NFC game is less important than any of the AFC games.

There is no “closure” in beating a team 2 years later in the regular season who beat you in the Super Bowl.

Their roster is as talented as there is in the league but so is ours.

In general we want as many wins as we can get, but since it's an out-of-conference game, I would rather have a win against the Steelers or the Dolphins as it will help us more at the end of the day.

I don't have the "revenge factor" against the Eagles as I might have against the Giants, as I feel the loss in the Super Bowl to them was on us, not a big win by them.

Plus the 2017 Eagles team was very good, whereas the 2007 and 2011 Giants were trash.

Stop living in the past son, and who gives a fck what the pundits say. :) The pats lost because 2/3 thirds of their starting defense was on the injured list, not because the eagles were in their heads.

Checking my calendar and I see its not circled...so yea not a huge one.

Gonna be a great game and I am looking forward to it....

But not a calendar circling game for me....Foles is now in Jacksonville...and there has been some roster turnover...

But asking Lane Johnson whether he is having fun following a W would be sweet....
