Damn, it's true, he DID ramble!

I'm saving this to watch on my flight tomorrow!

Am I wrong, but did Steve Tannenbaum, in a future presser categorize Bill's comments as being that of a "troubled man".

I had never seen the entire presser before. I was surprised to see how well Bill tried to express his concerns. The fact is that the situation radically changed between the time he originally agreed to take over for Parcells, and the time when Parcells moved to the FO.

I think the key factor was his experience with Cleveland. He went into that job knowing he was gong to have do a complete rebuild of the team and franchise. Just when he thought he was turning the corner, the owner pulls the rug out from under him, his team, AND his city. Not knowing who is new owner would be. Not knowing if he could get along with him, had the same vision of where the team was going. OR if the new owner had a different coach in mind coming in. AND I'm sure the continued, larger than life presence of Parcells looming over him was another negative that factored in his decision.

The fact was that no could assure him that HIS vision of what it would take to take the Jets to the next level would happen. Too many "what ifs" for him to stay, ESPECIALLY given his past experience.

I know its 20-20 hindsight, but listening to it today, it all made perfect sense to me. It didn't seem rambling or "troubled". It seemed like a guy who REALLY wanted to explain to the press why he was doing what he was doing. The only shock I had was Bill offering detailed one on one's to anyone who wanted one, and then leaving his personal phone # for anyone who wanted it so set up a meeting..

What a crappy press room he is in with a sheet taped up behind him.

That was one of the greatest days of my life.....

You better bring a parachute.

I’m glad it happened. That is the day the GOAT came our way. But truthfully with all that rambling. That was hard to watch

Watched this live on the Jets website, was so disappointed that BB was going to be the Jets coach and that Parcells had screwed us over again. Could not believe what I was hearing and it was AWESOME!

It's gone. Where'd you get it, Shmessy...

The Holy Grail!!!!!! I've spent two decades searching for this. I may have to take the day off :D

I remember watching it originally and thinking I wish I could be in the room with the Tuna to see his face during that presser! What goes around comes around Parcells!! It still makes me go "HAHA!" watching it today, as it did back then, and that's before we knew the Pats would get him.

Here ya go Joe. I don't know why it left - - did it for me too. Evidently the NFL has tried to block it, but if you click the fourth line down "Watch it on Youtube" ,it should work

Greatest moment in that "Two Bills" documentary by ESPN was when they were talking about how tense, awkward, weird that presser was........and then it cuts to Kraft with a mischievous grin and he chirps "I thought it was a GREAT press conference!".

Every time I see that I lose it. :p:p

Truly one of the most satisfying moments in Boston-NY rivalry history - right up there with Pooky throwing to first to clinch Game 7 in 2004.

.

i was living in NJ, and watched that conference at work with fellow workers, most were Jest and Gint fans. was happy as a clam

Isn't the time line that the Pats asked to speak to BB about their head coaching job (he was either the DC or the assistant coach of the Jets at the time), and instead of allowing him to do so [and go to, what at the time was a hated rival Parcells had already stuck it to multiple times], Parcells and the Jets cooked up a little scheme where Parcells would "resign as coach" and "go to the front office" and BB would become the head coach, but nobody really believed that Parcells wouldn't continue to run the team. They tried to mess with BB's advancement, something he has always said he won't do to an assistant. The karma was so awesome that day.

None of us knew at that time that Belichick would become the GOAT. Between getting Belichick as our HC and drafting Brady as our QB we hit the football lottery.

It's been around for a bit and someone else posted it on here at that time, but congrats on finding it.;)

They're not blocking it per se; they just won't let you watch it exxept on the YouTube website/app. I don't get why; it just is.

Eh, it’s a little rambling, but that comes from a guy speaking from the heart about something that’s complicated and personal to him.
