Brady puts Brookline home on the market

Could it simply mean that he is just flipping his $40 million house for another house he will flip???
That's my theory. They live somewhere for a few years, put the Brady/Gisele shine on it and make 20% profit.

Comparatively speaking, for a family worth that much, selling a house would be like me getting a new car. It means diddly-poo on its own. This is not an Earth shattering move for someone in their position.

I'm just connecting the dots: he's VERY family oriented with young kids; he doesn't like the new contract terms; he's 42. Why wouldn't he wait 'til he finally is officially done playing here to sell the place?

Because he might be trying to beat the recession and the price of the home might drop or the number of potential buyers might reduce. It’s just smart business. Interest rates are low now.

We aren't talking about flipping a fixer-upper in Westboro.

Tom paid $4.5m for the land and an estimated $15m to build the place.

He's looking to basically make 75% of his 2019 salary on this transaction alone.

And? How does it compare to the net worth of him and his wife? You can go ahead and read into this all you want, I'm not buying into the drama.

And what? You don't think there is any drama and you think selling a house for a ~$20m profit isn't worth their time. Which is it?

Didn't say it wasn't worth their time, just that it doesn't mean anything specific to their future other than, "We're ready to flip this house." People trying to to turn it into a sign of anything else are just bored.

Yeah, no way he plays with New York Giants or New Jersey Jete. If they move to the New York area it's for Gisele. But apparently he still has his place in the Back Bay ...
I agree. He has a great relationship with Kraft and nothing left to prove football wise. the time for all this would have been when Jimmy G was here. I dont see him playing anywhere else. The contract seems to be year by year and he will let them know when he is done. Hell, its going to take 2 years to sell that place anyway. I think they are just planning for the furture.

Exactly. I read somewhere since they got hitched this is like the 8th or 9th property they have flipped.

A few years ago they bought a pad in LA for $11.5m, fixed it up and sold it to Dr Dre for $40m. After reno costs, fees, taxes, etc I bet they cleared close to $20m in profit.

In the 8 or 9 years they've been married I bet they've cleared close to $80m in profits from flipping houses which would represent a little more than 10% of their combined net worth.

In order to make ends meet, this is their side-hustle....:p

With all that said the concern is that their kids are going to attend schools in NYC. I dunna know about that one.

Can’t blame him...the Pats are underpaying him so he needs the $$ ;)
Yea next thing you know you'll see Tom pushing a cart at Price Chopper with a 24-pack of Bounty paper towels in it.

Sorry, I may have missed the point of your original reply and reacted the wrong way. I really shouldn't post in the morning :p

All good.

No matter what happens (e.g. retirement, plays with Pats until he is 45 or he is traded), Brookline will NOT be his longterm home after he finishes with the Patriots. Sometimes it takes a long time to sell a 35 million dollar home.

BUT the optics of putting it on the market one day after his extension (or lack of extension) deal with the Patriots is announced are also sending a message to Kraft. Definitely gives him more leverage for the next negotiation in March with Kraft. Forces Kraft to start really contemplating what life without Brady might be like.

How does moving his family to Manhattan square with joining a new team if his whole priority as he’s said recently is to be more of a family man. Neither of the two New Jersey teams are in the market for a QB so he’d be dumping his family there and then moving to Tennessee or something. I don’t see it.

Brady's oldest son Jack lives in NYC with his mother, Bridget Moynahan, so yes, moving nearer to Manhattan is all about family. He wants to live closer to his son.

kids won't go to PS 37, plenty of exclusive private schools in NYC, NJ, and CT

If it’s NYC, I would imagine it’s a school like Dalton or Horace Mann. There’s some decent private schools in Greenwich but nothing earth shattering academically.

My point is that that would mean he’s retiring and not joining another team because neither of the New Jersey teams would want him and he’s not going to move his family to NY and then go live by himself somewhere else to play football.
