I really hope your wrong
I hope as well, because if he isn't the narrative will be that it is okay to beat your kid, but not to smoke pot.
ESPECIALLY given the suspension of Jarran Reed based on a 2017 ACCUSATION of sexual assault that went nowhere. Reed's suspension seems just as arbitrary as Hill's non-suspension. In fact there is FAR more evidence of Hill's maleficence than in Reed's case......
The Tyreek Hill outcome was perplexing though.
Oh yeah? And Josh Gordon is getting benched for a quarter.
While I agree with your point, it should be noted that Goodell has taken the initiative to work closely in developing a plan that’s specifically tailored to helping these troubled individuals who are repeat offenders and are currently serving indefinite suspensions. It’s basically his shining moment, at least in terms of helping the players......and yet at the sametime Gordon is such a repeat offender that he's already been suspended a full season in the past, how can further punishments be less than that.
It would be a like getting a 2 year jail sentence for an infraction and then only a 1 year jail sentence when you get caught doing that infraction again.
I hope Goodell shows some mercy (for the sake of the Pats) but I just don't see how he reduces the punishment from a prior infraction.

I posted this a couple of pages back. I understand KC police did not cooperate/provide info to the NFL re: Hill but for a player not to be charged or arrested and suspended TWO YEARS after the event took place is absurd.Jarran Reed, DT for the Seahawks, suspended 6 games. Not arrested, not charged.
Seahawks DL Jarran Reed suspended six games
Maybe the NFL was angry because they weren’t notified when the incident occurred.I posted this a couple of pages back. ...which is ridiculous in its own right if that is the case.Maybe the NFL was angry because they weren’t notified when the incident occurred.
We don't know yet right? So Gordon won't be allowed to Practice with the Team during TC??

This makes too much sense for our NFL sadly. This is exactly what the Pats should ask the league for. Let him go through the regiment of training camp, even if the league insists that they keep him out of the pre-season games. Let him try and go into a normal regiment, it is the only way he is ever going to be successful in his recovery.
Make it conditional, daily drug tests, and then a if you stay clean for x amount of weeks, the suspension is lifted.
Although, I don't even think that Gordon has even applied for re-instatment yet, has he?

He's a victim a addict not a hardened criminal who is hurting other people. As a Pats fan of course we want Goodell to be lenient, but if we are being honest with ourselves.....if we were unbiased we'd be looking at this like......"Suspend him from the league for life. I mean really, how many chances should a guy get?"
Whey help someone who clearly doesn't want to help himself?
I think you're tasking the wrong question. The league needs to relax it weed policy. Banning for life for using something that's 100% legal in the state he has his job in is wrong now I believe. The question is why do players need a chance given to them for doing something perfectly legal? As a Pats fan of course we want Goodell to be lenient, but if we are being honest with ourselves.....if we were unbiased we'd be looking at this like......"Suspend him from the league for life.
