I am told that something will happen with Rudolph in the next couple hours...no doesnt mean he is coming here, but the vikings will make their decision in the next couple hours. I heard that teams have only offered Day 3 picks. We will see!

Do we have the cap?

We have almost 11 mil so yes if we do trade for him. Im not so sure we are or not. All I know is that vikings will make a decision on Rudolph in the next couple hours.

That would really leave is tight against the cap and make it difficult to operate.

We still need to
Pay player 52 and 53
Pay players 54-x that go On IR
Eat the Sb for players x-90
Pay injury settlements for some of the cut players
Pay the practice squad
Pay nltbe that get earned
Have money for in season additions.

He would have to take a pay cut which I wouldn't see unless he wants to chase a championship.
I would say I can see Cardinals Raiders Jaguars.

Why would he "have to" take a pay cut?

If we trade for a aging vet we normally have them redo their deal.

Sure, but that doesn't mean he'd have to do it. They can afford him (barely) as is.

Because the NEP will not pay him $7.6m

If he's cut, he's making $0.00.

Several teams will likely want to talk with him. Negotiations start there.

If the Pats were to trade for him to avoid the negotiating competition (doubt it), they'd be on the hook for the $7.6...I'd bet they would try to get him a 2-year deal with some guaranteed money instead.

Who would be the odd tight end out?
Lacosse or Anderson?

Neither Anderson nor Jenkins have any dead cap if they are cut. So I imagine one or both of them are the first TEs to go, if any.

I'm not 100% sure of that. If Watson is worth $3 million, 7.6 for Rudolph is not a crazy number.
It's not matter or relevant worth by comparison. It's a matter of spending $ and using available space on right players and positions.

It's irrelevant. If they trade for him and he refuses to redu his deal they will cut him or trade him to someone who will.

Only way Pats are interested is if he agrees to a restructure - see cut

Told by who?

Rudolph has played 112 career games and had 60 or more receiving yards 16 times.
7 were in 2016 when he had 132 targets from Sam “I won’t throw downfield” Bradford (leaving 9/96 the rest of his career)

Yeah, and although I like the guy, it leaves me wondering what he brings that Watson/ASJ don't.
