TROY BROWN! - and it's not even close. Until Welker can prove that he can come up big in the clutch (like Brown has done over and over and over in his career) he can take a backseat to the greatest Patriot of all time: Troy Bown.

Troy Brown is the greatest Patriot of all time? What about that guy Tom Brady?

John Hannah says "hi"

I said he was my favorite. Stanley Morgan was a better receiver. Hannah was definitely a better lineman than Brown. Brady steps up in the pocket way better than Brown.

My question would be "Who do we want on the roster, Troy Brown or Heath Evans?".

So long Heath, Eckels can actually gain more than 1.4 ypc. Troy makes the team because of his versatility and experience.

Brown had that chance last year against colts .PaTS needed
that play on 3rd down to win game he couldn`t make space
from Sanders.

Brady threw the ball to Brown with the game on the line in the 2nd to last drive of the AFCC. Brown turned in, Brady wanted him to turn out, and you know the rest.

Mistakes happen, even Brown isn't infallible, and Welker is in his prime and Brown is on his last go around.

Nobody could make space last season (including Watson) because they didn't have a deep threat. With Moss and Stallworth on the field, that changes dramatically. Still, Welker is the more explosive slot receiver at this juncture. But I want Troy on the roster as his backup, among other things.

I'm not sure why that is a question. I don't see the roster decision coming down to Evans or Brown. If the Pats think Brown is a better option on the roster than Washington or Gaffney I believe he will replace on of those two. I think it would be a waste of carrying six wide receivers especially well only three have been a big part of the game plans. Evans has done a great job lead blocking and contributed on special teams. People seem to be jumping on the Eckel bandwagon but based on what? He has done the same thing with his carries as Evans (gaining little yardage). When Evans comes in as a running back it is usaully with two or three tight ends and the Pats are basically telling the defense they are running. The other team has had nine guys in the box and three guys in the hole before Evans/Eckel have even got carries.

"Age smage!!" With the $$ on the table, i'll take #80 please. :rocker:

Like when #80 ran the wrong route with the season on the line in the AFCCG last year??

Troy in his prime > Welker

Troy now < Welker

simple...put Moss at the slot position...LOL

but in reality i say welker

be serious......welker now vs brown 7 years ago is a fair comparision.
now its just twaddle......welker

Being an apples to oranges comparison, at this point I'd have to go with Welker. I love TBrown's grittiness and unselfishness, but his best days are behind him at his point. At the same stages of their careers it would be Troy.
