My wife and I had our anniversary on Wednesday, which we had originally intended to celebrate by going out to a nice dinner. Unfortunately circumstances changed and we had to attend a wake that night instead (brother-in-law's father, expected but not so soon), so I told her we can reschedule for this weekend.
Her: "Why not Thursday?"
Me: "You know it's the 1st round of the draft, right? Remember how you tell me to not ask you to do anything during the triple crown horse races? This is my triple crown weekend."
Her: "I remember. That means nothing Friday too, right? Then we can go out Saturday night instead."
Me: "Well, you know the 7th round often times doesn't end until after 6:00"
Her: "Really, you're watching the 7th round????:mad::mad::mad:"

It looks like I'll be checking the 7th round on my phone.....

It's wifey's birthday this weekend....and she likes to make a whole weekend out of it...

On my list:

Fri: NFL draft day 2 & Dubs/Clips.
Sat: NFL draft day 3, Bruins/CBJ, Sixers/Raptors, Spurs/Nuggets
Sun: Celts/Bucks

Gonna be difficult to navigate this weekend.....and I haven't even bought a present for her birthday yet!

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports
Grade: C+

I watched every one of his games and believe me it pains me to give this a 'C+,' but I just think there were better options. One thing when you look at the Patriots is they don't play fast outside, they needed to get faster. Maybe they expect Josh Gordon to come back at some point, but, for me I would have taken Parris Campbell or one of those guys, a faster, more athletic receiver. I don't love this pick

Oh what a shocker Pete PRICKo didnt like the pick

Parris LOS Campbell:rolleyes: Pisco's curse is an actual blessing.

I hope to God he pans out this year. Imagine if JG actually could come back and get his head on straight.

Gordon
Harry
Edelman
Demaryius

Not a bad crop.

Gordon and Demaryius being starters is a pipe dream at this point. I don’t think the latter will make it out of camp.

100% agree. I was just spelling out the "dream" scenario (somehow DT rehabs and comes back 100%).

After last year's failed move after failed move (except Josh for a time I guess) they are due

The hope is that he can combine the best of AJ Brown & DK Metcalf at half the cost. That's smart business. Another benefit of taking Harry now is that Bill can become even more flexible when searching for another (complementary?) WR later tonight or more likely tomorrow.

Athletic profile etc. is very similar to Allen Robinson, Juju and Michael Thomas.

Pretty similar strengths and weaknesses.

NFL Events: Combine Player Profiles - JuJu Smith-Schuster

Funny that NFL.com gave Robinson, Harry, Thomas and Juju all basically the same grade.

Wow interesting comparison. I think they are completely different kind of players, but not completely different. Similar 40 times, but Harry has a better vertical jump by half a foot. And almost doubled Smit-Schuster’s bench press

Smith-Schuster
  • 40 YARD DASH: 4.54 SEC
  • BENCH PRESS: 15 REPS
  • VERTICAL JUMP: 32.5 INCH
  • BROAD JUMP: 120.0 INCH
Harry

4.53
27
38.5
122.0

Harry will be 22 in December. One of the younger players in the draft. He might just be scratching the surface of his potential.
The older I get the more amazing it is to me just how young these guys are. This kid is a kid for gosh sakes.

Pardon the language.

Arizona fans seem to feel confident that they were going to have the home-town star at the 33 pick. In this Twitter exchange it’d comical as they commiserate with one another. One calls it a gut check. Another says he’ll see them in therapy. Is schadenfreude a sin?

Captain, you liked the pick?

Does N'Keal remind anyone of Terrel Owens in his playing style (not behavior)?

TO was not the fastest guy but was a very physical, imposing WR who was great after the catch and playing the jump ball.

More like Michael Irvin

Just shattering backboards in highschool!

Sheesh! I know schools are being under supported but with sports being a huge money maker you think even high schools would have found a way to pay for quality equipment.
