The draft

I think that BB goes through phases.

Certainly, Ron Brace was when he was in "date the sister" mode (BC's line is good and everyone thinks it's Raji, but Brace is contributing too).

He's also had a let's pick top guys who were injured phase: Ras-I Dowling, Brandon Tate and Dominique Easley (not great) and Gronk (makes up for all the rest!)

Then there was the all-in on Rutgers phase (which, to be honest, worked out extremely well: McCourty, Harmon and Ryan have had excellent careers) and the all-in on Florida phase (not so good). It makes sense to say: let's not fret about minor differences of athleticism that anyway may or may not show up on the field, let's worry about whether they have a professional attitude and have been well prepared.

I think that the admiration for Stanford and the fact that Richards had been a captain there explains that one.

He is saying the opposite.

Reiss is expecting the Pats to take WRs on day 2 and thinks Hockenson and Fant will be long gone. Unless the Pats move up, move down, or take a QB at 32, then all that’s left are non-flashy players that Bill will take tonight.

Hockenson-yes
Fant-remains to be seen but he’s 1 of a few I would consider moving up for

He isn't expecting them to go WR on day 2, he is saying he would be happy if they ended up with Mecole and Ridley.

Considering he is saying WR is priority number 1 it seems entirely on the table they will go wideout today.

I think the Jaguars take Hockenson.

Only a couple turns for 2 screws. I have a drill.

I'm lazy when it comes to that stuff so I use the drill every time. Use the drill next time or I'll come to your house and smash some dishes.

I have this feeling that BB will draft a receiver today.

You need to get yourself a drill. I'd recommend DeWalt, but any drill will do.
BB loves drills

I read it differently. When it comes to Reiss (and only Reiss), what he predicts is a good indication of what the thinking is within the organization. Reiss did not mention any of the day 1 WRs like AJ Brown or DK Metcalf, but did mention a couple of day 2 WRs. With 5 picks on day 2, you can get some quality weapons for Brady. Of course, this is all moot if the draft goes differently and a few great WR prospects suddenly become available at 32.

@patchick Sweat got misdiagnosed at the combine.

There are unsourced rumors that teams think his heart condition was misdiagnosed; there are other unsourced rumors that teams have taken him off their draft boards entirely due to the heart condition. So I consider him a huge wild card in round 1.

I don't get a lot of the rumors of the Raiders taking a QB at #4. Carr has only been average the last couple years but he's had a bad OL and switched systems several times. I by no means think he's elite but with less around him he did better than Stafford, Prescott, Keenan and others who aren't being mentioned.

yeah, I can see that happening. Give them a 6th and future 5th and Thomas is a DT for us.
Solomon is only in the 3rd year of his deal as well. So we could have him signed up for two, possibly three years for relatively cheap if he reaches his potential.
