They’re not going to get any worthwhile competition unless they draft somebody. “Come compete against Gostkowski and you’ll probably be cut in August” is an awful sales pitch for any worthwhile free agent or undrafted free agent.

Especially if the UDFA realizes that the Pats have 2.4 million reasons to keep Gostkowski.
