I think it would of help, who knows how he would of held up down the stretch in the post season.

RLKAG (probably 2)
You know what really might have made a difference? If Hernandez hadn't followed suit

We probably beat the Jets and Steelers and head to the Super Bowl to lose a high-scoring affair to Green Bay, who were simply the better team that year. The 2010 defense sucked balls.

Moss was pretty cooked by then so I doubt that it would have made any difference.

moss's legs were shot in 2010. It was like watching Ali try to fight Holmes in 1980. Had nothing left.

**** no. Branch gave us more than Moss could at that point.

He was completely toast. Outside possibility he still provides a reasonable deep threat in the playoffs, but I don’t think so.

That was a weird season. The problem was, Brady was still trying to force the ball to Moss at times where he shouldn't have been, which was a big issue before his departure. When Branch got here, the offense improved quite a bit and they spread the ball around much better. I think maybe if they had kept Moss and added Branch, they might have been better down the stretch with some pressure taken off Moss - which is what they needed because he wasn't as dominant anymore. But like @KontradictioN said, the defense was in tough shape that year and I don't know if they would have had enough to go the distance.

I voted still lose because sometimes in football it’s just not your day, fumbles, drops, calls, the other guys game plan all just constantly go against you. The pats had just spanked the bejezzus outta that jets team a couple weeks earlier on just such a day. Karma is a *(&#” and even with Moss I think enough was going to happen that the pats would have still lost. Still a top 5 most bitter tough loss to get over in my book. F*&king Jets. They suck.

I do not think Moss being on the team would have made any difference. That loss was a complete team loss. They had entered the playoffs with such a swagger and just like that totally lost it. I know of some fans who took that loss harder than subsequent SB losses.

I don’t agree. Brady trargetted mosd a total of 13 times in 4 games so it certainly wasn’t Brady forcing the ball. IMO the bigger issue was moss giving up on the throes Brady did make.
Moss was gone after the jet game when he blatantly just didn’t try.

This thread brings back bad memories ...
I'm still stuck on if they ran some plays with Randy Moss over the middle we win that game.

It's crazy that from what I read our 2010 offense surpassed 2007 in a lot of stats if not all.

It didn't surpass it in raw numbers, but it did surpass it in efficiency.

The 2010 offense was a thing of beauty. That team - not 2007 - is my favorite non-champion team of the era. This featured the bizarre return of Branch, the introduction to Gronkowski, the thought-to-be non-homicidal Hernandez (and 2 TE offense), th awesome story of Danny Woodhead, Welker returning from an ACL quickly, McCourty playing CB at a pro bowl level (remember that amazing INT on a Calvin Johnson pass?), Chung playing well, and Brady playing out of his mind after concerns in 09 that the ACL may have lasting problems. And of course th biggest shock, addition by subtraction, or so we thought, when the insane, senile Belichick shipped off Moss.

The defense wasn’t great but seemed to force a lot of turnovers and put games away early...and it seemed they were able to go back into the “let’s pick up this bum off the street and turn him into a star because why not?”

That team went on a run where they were just annihilating everyone for along time. This was a season of shock that the dynasty may just be reloading and not fading away, and it turns out it was true.

After the game the story was they were young and inexperienced...and you hear that a lot in sports never to hear from that team again...but in this case, that was the last time they didn’t play in the AFCCG, just confirming how incredible that rebuild in the making was.

No, Randy was checked out. Took him getting booted to see the grass isn't greener on the other side to realize his error.

I remember working with a fellow Pats fan at the time and he just knew we'd win that game. I was nervous all week. I'm not saying I knew the game would ultimately go the way it did, but I definitely knew they could be beat by that team. And they were.

Moss was toast, not sure why anyone would think he'd make a difference. Team was better after he left.

Imagine the narrative surrounding Rodgers without that Super Bowl win.

So my choice is either losing to the Jests, or losing to Rogers and having to listen to the ridiculous comparisons to Brady, after "Rogers beats Brady" in a SB?
