Patriots Pre-Draft Contacts List 2019

I was pretty harsh on him with my gif reviews, but boy does his size and speed tantalize. If he's there at 97, I'm excited about the pick. Earlier than that in the draft, I want to take more sure fire contributors, but he's certainly got the talent to develop into a high end player. Maybe McDaniels sees another Demaryius Thomas?

Other than BP (which means zilch for a WR), look at these insane marks:

Does he play to these numbers ? Otherwise, I think he is another Chad Jackson.

Nope. That's been my concern. But he flashes.

Jackson at least had a 90 catch final season in the SEC. He had real potential. Perhaps if he'd been dafted elsewhere he could have avoided injury and picked up a simpler offense. Regardless, he had more catches, yards, and TDs than Boykin, and also ran faster at the Combine. It's not unreasonable to say that he was worth a gamble.

A few years ago I did a quick study of the OL we’d drafted and found that 30” plus verticals and short shuttles in the 4.5 range were common amongst our high picked draftees on the OL. Mcgary has a 33.5 vert and a 4.58 shuttle. It fits.

The only real knock on McGary is his short arms. The percentile looks bad (7), but his arms are still ~ 33" long. I don't see an actual problem.

Where do you see him, inside or outside? I could see 2019 swing tackle and long-term Thuney replacement.

Right tackle all the way. Swing + Cannon replacement. Either way, solid versatility/value.

I'm pretty consistently getting 4.5s - 4.6s. Not the fastest, but better than the 4.7s reported. I don't know if I should really change his grade, just be aware of where he needs to play to excel.
