Kraft Orchids Case - Prosecuters Want a Tug Rule?

Not open for further replies.
So Kraft basically admits guilt - I wonder if he'll take the deal now. He must be terrified of that video getting out.

Probably he is terrified about it being shown but the Owners meeting is coming up and he will be disciplined, the question is how badly.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!

But since none of those arrested at the spa could be witnesses, why make these arrests and then hold a fuggn news conference about it as if your force did something big and important?
Why not.
Perhaps they feel that making these arrests and shutting down the brother IS something big and important.
If those girls are being trafficked isn’t getting them out the biggest news of all?

Not true. Case is still very much open. Kraft (spelling corrected) is still very much innocent until proven guilty.
Legally, in terms of having a criminal record or not, yes, he is innocent at the moment.

In pretty much any other context, guilty as hell. He clearly did it, and only a total Kraft suckup could deny that.

Well, now that Kraft has apologized that should make any legal proceedings a moot point with respect to the NFL. Goodell can now hang Kraft on his own words.

got up this morning and told my cat " I bet the sun will come up!" 10 minutes later, there it was ,shining brightly...suddenly from the bushes I heard "BAD GUESS!!"...I called out "Andy ,is that you?" but no answer. So anyway, I went back to bed and fell asleep. Had this dream that the warrants in the Kraft case were for "human trafficking!". Upon waking up and running to the computer I found the warrants are still sealed and NO ONE knows the specifics yet. I sighed a breath of relief....that was close, I thought.

Robert Kraft releases statement amid solicitation charges: 'I am truly sorry'

“I am truly sorry. I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, our fan and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard.

“Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the right thing. The last think I would ever want to do is disrespect another human being. I have extraordinary respect for women; my morals and my should were shaped by the most wonderful woman, the love of my life, who I was blessed to have as a partner for 50 years.

“As I move forward, I hope to continue to use the platform with which I have been blessed to help others and to try to make a difference. I expect to be judged not by my words but by my actions. And through those actions, I hope to regain your confidence and your respect.”
I don't see an admission to anything in this statement aside from being sorry for embarrassing everyone? Very carefully worded. I don't see how this helps.

Or maybe, he is sincerely sorry for acting in a way that brought shame to everyone and everything in his life.

That's what I'm saying. People aren't even giving him a chance.

Why not.
Perhaps they feel that making these arrests and shutting down the brother IS something big and important.

A 56 year old and a 48 year old are NOT "girls"...but then YOU knew that and deliberately LIED to keep your "winning" streak alive.Congratulations...now show all of us the "human trafficking" warrants.

So Kraft basically admits guilt - I wonder if he'll take the deal now. He must be terrified of that video getting out.

What? If he was terrified he would have taken the deal. His lawyers have already made it clear they are going to attack improper police procedure.

I don't see where he admits guilt. He says "I'm truly sorry." That's it? What is he sorry about? Is he just sorry this story has brought embarrassment to his family, team, and the NFL? This is a cop-out.

I think the video is getting released. Prepare for WWIII if so.

Andy, no one is saying that a false claim was used to get a warrant.
Yes people are literally word for word saying that. You may not be but others in this thread are.

What people are saying is that judges grant warrants with a narrow scope of purpose. The purpose here has to be to balance privacy with the necessity of videotaping for the narrow purpose of busting a sex trafficking operation.
But you are making this up. You do not know that is the scope and why in the would would the police make solicitation arrests if their warrant was only for traffickers? They know what they apply for and get. Sure they could be morons but wouldn’t you want to see any inducation of that before jumping to the wild conclusion that police got a warrant executed it, but didn’t realize what it was for?

[quotewIf Bob Kraft had been caught on day 1, this would be certainly be **** luck for him because everything you’re saying is true. The problem is it really, really looks like the police at some point should have realized that the warrant they were granted also gives them a duty to be swift, stick to its purpose, and stop using it if they realize the case has no legs. [/quote]
Reports say the warrrant had a 30 day tone frame.
There is nothing saying that there was no evidence of trafficking. We don’t know trafficking charges aren’t still to come and we don’t know that this was the first step of a longer range investigation. You don’t uncover the pipeline by hewing the prostitution. You discover it’s happening then the investigation takes flight. It is certainly possible that the “madam” is being turned into a cooperating witness to find the supplier and chain.

That’s why a judge may very well rule that, yes, the warrant was legitimate, but no, you can’t just purposefully use its sureveillance powers to gather evidence for something beyond its scope.
A crime occurring during surveillance does not have to be the crime you suspected you were looking for.

A lot of this will have to do with what the police were thinking, if they legitimately believed that, at that point in the investigation, taping B. Kraft was really pertinent to the trafficking investigation. Because it looks very much like it wasn’t.
I have no clue how you draw that conclusion. Even if there is zero evidence of trafficking the warrant is issued based upon the PROBABLE cause that a crime is being committed. If the investigation bears no fruit it does not I vidate the warrant. The standard is probable cause, not ultimate proof. (Imagine the police state the alternative would create) A crime committed during legal surveillance that is different than the crime suspected does not make the surveillance illegal.
Think about it this way. If I’ve been robbed 11 times in 2 weeks and the police get a warrant to videotape my front yard because I filed a report, gave strong evidence that I know who did it etc, and someone murders a person on my front lawn the surveillance tape isn’t inadmissible in the murder trial and whether I ever get robbed again or not has O impact on that.

Oh please, Bob Kraft is not sorry. He's just sorry he got caught.

What 'this' is, is exactly what it was meant to be. A statement in advance of the owners meetings that other owners could refer to in lieu of having to make their own statements on the subject.

Why didn’t he release this statement like 3 weeks so?

I disagree on the grounds that over two thirds of their case is made up from illegal attained evidence.
First I have no idea what you are disagreeing with because the post you quoted was a series of questions.
But I’ll assume.

If 2/3s of the case is illegally obtained evidence than whether he is found guilty will be based upon the other 1/3. If the evidence was obtained illegally then it gets thrown out.

Problem is there is no legitimate reason to conclude any of the evidence was obtained illegally.

The rest of my objections are that you can’t discount the bill of rights, the constitution, methods and practices that are inherently ingrained in our law enforcement. Now, if you are on board with this then you are an anti American. Anti fair, anti law and the antichrist.
Who is discounting any of that? I am endorsing it all. Where in the constitution or bill of rights does it say that you cannot investigate a crime when you have probable cause? That a crime committed and witnessed during the investigation of a different crime isnt allowed to be prosecuted?

The constitution and bill of rights doesn’t say crimes can be freely committed and law enforcement has no right to investigate.

The 4th amendment doesn’t abolish search and seizure. It acknowledges that a lawful society requires search and seizure to prevent, investigate, and punish crime. It lays out the restrictions in doing so.

Please explain to me what facts we have that say there was an illegal search and seizure.

You are insulting American values with your comments.

If the video was legally obtained it will be released as public record.

Why didn’t he release this statement like 3 weeks so?

he lied about it at first, and is now admitting it. agree this should have been his statement 3 weeks ago...

You should admit your wrong because you are actually wrong. This is not Venezuela
Please show me how I am wrong to say I do not know if federal authorities are involved in this case, and that I don’t accept TMZ saying they heard they weren’t as proof that “the feds REFUSED to get involved”.
I will readily admit I am wrong if you can show me why it is wrong to say I don’t know and require a better source than “TMZ says” to convince me.

Not sure what Venezuela has to do with this, is it wrong to say I don’t know there?
