Nick Underhill, who I am sure many of you remember from his Mass/Live days is returning to the Pats as the the beat writer for The Athletic.

I have been a Saints fan since their inaugural year in 1967. Nick Underhill joined the Baton Rouge/New Orleans Advocate several years ago as the beat writer for the Saints. Best writer and analyst for a Saints beat reporter in their 52 year history. The guy is a hard-working, film-studying animal who tells it as he sees it.

I like him a lot as he is a rare gem when it comes to sports reporting. Treat him well. We will miss him for sure.

Sorry I do not have a link, but it should be reported and I have solid sources. He has announced his departure from the Advocate on Twitter.

You guys are lucky to have him. He's top notch. And who knows, he may actually be able to speak Bellichick.

I remember liking him back in the day. Didn't know he went to cover the Saints; that's kinda cool actually.

Just a hunch: are you Nick Underhill?

Maybe we can send Volin to the Browns or the Jets. Would immediately become best offseason move in a decade.

I’m okay with Volin being sent to cover the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Please send us the name of his replacement at the Advocate, if there is one.

Sending another sports reporter to Boston is like sending more ice to the South Pole...

A good reporter is cool. A good receiver would be better.

I don't see myself renewing my Athletic subscription - underwhelming IMO.

LOL, but no, there aren't many sports reporters left in Boston, just a lot of entertainers masquerading as reporters. Here's my definitions:

Reporters: Investigate what's happening, and share that information when it is relevant, sometimes with a balanced opinion about its significance. Use inside sources to get access to information. Don't report on anything significant unless they have multiple sources to corroborate.

Entertainers: Wait for news to come out, then overstate its significance in hopes of creating overly emotional responses and becoming the center of a conversation.

Jeff Howe has been the Patriots beat reporter there. I wonder if he's leaving or if both he and Howe will share coverage of the Patriots.

Pete Prisco is our next reporter

Not really, Spaceman.
Once upon a long time ago, that was the case.
Now, you can count the # of actual sports reporters on one hand.

Wheelman = Volin?
