Kraft Orchids Case - Prosecuters Want a Tug Rule?

I suggest everybody stop using the adjective "hard" in this thread..until this matter is rectumfied

Then you don't know prosecutors...

This ought to be good.

There were a total of 25 men in all caught up in this. 24 will be found guilty, but Bob somehow is innocent.

Kraft has friends in high places. Gee, somebody comes to mind lol

With the exception of Nevada, since when can anyone legally sell themselves for sex?

Bob would be free and clear in Nevada. He was in Florida.

Fine, expensive eating establishments on a Saturday night?

Kraft should say that he thought that he was in Nevada.

All these cities look the same.

Just a quick question from the peanut gallery. Has the state walked back from it original hot take that this was a "human trafficking" case? I mean that was the phrase that got this case the kind of national attention it eventually got.

After reading this thread in its entirety (and admittedly not reading the first one at all), it seems like the "human trafficking" part of this is not longer in play.

BTW- as to the possibility of Kraft going to jail on this charge; it would fly in the face of reality....by a lot. I would guess that the number of "johns" who have EVER gone to jail for their part in a prostitution crime in the history of this country would could be counted on one hand. So no, the chances of Bob Kraft going to jail for this, REGARDLESS of the evidence is about the same as me winning the lottery tonight.

I guess I am not understanding what your complaint here is. As happens in many criminal matters (or even civil matters), it looks like an airtight case with lots of good evidence at the beginning, but then the other side starts to chip away at your great case. So you settle. That means taking less than you wanted in a civil case, and accepting a plea to lesser charges (or placing the charge on file or sometimes dropping the charges altogether) in a criminal case. So far I haven't seen any special treatment for Bob Kraft because he's a rich white guy (is that your complaint?). It looks like business as usual to me.

You seem to be equating moral guilt or innocence with legal guilt or innocence. Pretty much, never the two shall meet.

That seems to be the case. No "human trafficking" charges have been brought against anyone if I have read things correctly. It looks like a run-of-the-mill prostitution ring bust.

I guess I don't get what's in it for the PD. "We'll drop charges if you plead guilty", don't the police want charges if he's guilty and not have charges if he's not guilty? That's the point of having the law and the justice stuff, right? To get the guilty people and let the innocent alone.
Saves time and money and the $5,000 fine per offense is money in the bank.

There is no complaint. There is black and white with me.

Either Kraft is innocent or guilty.

Like I stated earlier, everyone will be on trial except for Kraft. Like the OJ trial.

It is dropping charges and it is likely a good deal for the regular-joes involved. I doubt many of them would want to have to talk about having been convicted of solicitation the next time they apply for a job or loan or something along those lines. I bet the regular-joes involved take the deal.

Bob Kraft is a whole 'nother matter entirely. His concern is not with criminal penalties or filling out job applications.
Agree but no one has to disclose a misdemeanor solicitation charge in a job interview or on a loan application

This proposed "deal" is an indirect admission that the authorities:

Overstepped their authority
Manufactured a false narrative (human trafficking) to secure warrants
Trampled citizen rights by (1) illegal filming based on illegally constructed warrants , (2) forcing vehicles to pull over under a false traffic violation premise, (3) demanding identification of all vehicle inhabitants based on false traffic violation premise.

Why deal when you having a winning hand?

Jupiter PD is in face saving mode right now and attempting to secure a result it would never be able to secure in court.
I suspect the biggest conversation within the Jupiter municipality is its liability exposure, not misdemeanor rub 'n tug convictions.

Kraft is in a position that holds tremendous leverage. Admitting anything beyond which bank account Jupiter liability insurers should deposit his settlement into is a non starter.
Why accept the label Rub 'nTug Beneficiary when you don't have to?
Bob didn't hire a fleet of assassin attorneys in order to achieve an opportunity for public admission.

Damn man. You make it sound like they ripped Kraft out of Sunday school and forced him to wear a scarlet letter or something. hahaha

Kraft is the victim here. Right? haha

The defense will produce numerous people to testify that Mr. Kraft is a generous tipper. As generous to people who carry his bags to his hotel room or cut his hair as he was to those massage therapists.
Those people aren’t performing sex acts on him.

Use your Google Fu to look up:

Massachusetts CWOF (continuance without finding)
Or New York ACOD (Adjourned in contemplation of dismissal)

It's tough to be black and white in a grey world...

Sunday school? Isn't that a bit culturally insensitive? Wouldn't they have had to yank a Genesis Prize winner out of Hebrew or Yeshiva school? :D
