Bortles released...

no

I think not ...
But I would feel better with a Hoyer upgrade.

No.

The jaguars should have to suffer the full wrath of his cap hit for actually, unbelievably, exercising his fifth year option. No team should sign him and bail them out on principle alone.

Meh if the team thinks there something there I always hold out hope that a bust can find new life with the right coaching and system. A few years ago Foles was a joke but then I seem to remember him playing well in some game.

I can't blake the feeling you're wrong about this possibility with Bortles.

You're right better to make huge sweeping declarations and then not bother to hold myself accountable if i end up wrong

he sucks and will never make a meaningful throw in his life and then his **** will fall off

Hoyer is more valuable on the sidelines and offering his input throughout the game and from what I gather his input in the film room than a Bortles type would be. imo

He'd be a top 5 backup QB for sure, but I don't think he's what we need right now.

He definitely is capable of playing backup. I don’t think any teams in their right minds would start him.

Ya never know, BB and Ernie Adams might get a football chubby and decide they can fix him.

I'm not disagreeing. He will never again make a meaningful throw, unless it is throwing down a shot of tequila wondering where all the good times had gone.

At this point, I'd really just like Hoyer to retire and become a coach for the team. Pay him the same salary but let us start developing a young talent with the #2 qb.

The jags cap hit won’t be affected by another team signing him.

The jags get a dollar for dollar offset on the salary portion, which is like 6.5 million iirc. Its not tge full aamount, but its a nice chunk of change.

Depending how good this prospect is you might have to carry 3 QBs for a year. Plus I think you can put it off one more year if there isn't a prospect you love that falls in your lap.

Right, they fully guaranteed 6.5 so if another team signs him they only have to pay him the difference.

Hopefully Flores is drooling in Miami and signs this guy.

i heard the jags tried to extend bortles but when he sent the contract to his agent nick foles intercepted it.
