John Ross on the Block

If you look at how the Patriots used Patterson, could they do the same for Ross?? Cordarelle became one of my favorites as the season progressed..

My druthers is to hang on to Patterson as he "gets" all of this, and the more time he spends here the more familiar and versatile he will become..

What I loved about Patterson, that I really didn’t know until he played here, was how tough and physical he was. And imo that was actually the character and quality of that team that won them the Super Bowl. That team wasn’t pretty at all, they banged it out. I love that.

I love that part of Patterson's game. You're not going to replace that with Ross who is about 30 pounds lighter.

I expect Dorsett's APY floor is roughly 2.5M with a ceiling of 4M.
Watkins got 16 mill, why can’t Dorsett clear 10 lol(no but really you’re probably about)? What an absurd contract lmao Edelman doesn’t even get a third of Watkins yearly pay.

This is a good thread about Ross -

There's also more information about Ross on Taylor's twitter as well. He's worth the follow.

Just an inkling but I bet we re sign Dorsett and Patterson. We will just teach Cordell to be a tight end. He did great at running back so he is too versatile to let walk

I wish I properly understood why people are so negative about Phillip Dorsett. Sure he wasn't worth his draft slot but it's not like we wasted a draft pick on him. We traded a 4th round QB we didn't need and weren't using for a WR who could fill a spot on the depth chart, and for his spot on the depth chart (behind Edelman and Hogan). No one expected Dorsett to be WR1 -- and yet Dorsett was way better than Hogan this year and made some excellent plays, including a key TD in the playoffs. No one would mistake him for an elite WR, but we didn't trade elite WR assets or pay elite WR money for Dorsett.

Phillip Dorsett did his job and did it pretty well.

I’m not coming down on one side or the other but it can’t be denied we had an almost non-existent RZ threat in the air last season.

Dorsett sucks never lived up to his First Round billing and Ross is about the same. One trick pony's are easily covered CB's jump their routes every-time. I prefer others.

From week five on of the regular season Dorsett had a 100% catch rate. Also contributed two TD's during the playoffs.

How in the world does he "suck"???

Yeah that Watkins deal was ridiculous the day it was signed and it hasn't been justified in the least after 1 year. He did pretty well against us in the playoffs but you don't pay $16M for one good game. It really ****ed up the market.

I like how Ross was multifaceted in college with KR, WR and even sweeps. Like Patterson...he never lived up to the hype after he was drafted. But i see your point.

Patterson was certainly an important piece for the Patriots success last season.

Yeah Patterson played well in spurts but he looked awful on those Slants in the Chiefs game. Made me longed for Gordon on those plays.

Wouldn't be surprised in the least if we make a move. Could end up being the speed guy role that Dorsett filled this year, but hopefully with more potential.

Oh, look, football has broken out among the porn. An actual intelligent and informative football post! Yay! Hail, Hydra!

I'd love to take a look at Ross. He can burn, but can he run routes? Anyone know his problem in Cincinnati (other than the Bengals)?

Think he’s had some injuries which hampers anybody let alone a rookie.

Also sounds like the bengals haven’t done him any favours at all with dalton and driskel throwing to him.

I wish Dorsett made more plays like the one he did in the AFC-CG but those plays are just too few and far in between. I hope they move on from him and I don't think his Agents phone is going to ring a lot in FA.
