Danny Amendola Reunion?

Hogan isn't a bad#3 or #4 wr. He isn't a good #1 wr or #2 wr. If he is paid like a #4 that is fine, if he is paid like a #2 it isn't. Danny made some clutch catches in the playoffs, and for cheap money, isn't a bad addition, but we really do need to get better at wr.

The team needs to find an OWR1, or at least an OWR2, and it needs to find the next generation of slot WR. What is the role need for Amendola?
Would it hurt bringing in a guy like Dola that Tom is very comfortable with for 2-3 million? It’s not like both can’t be accomplished here.

Lets not act like DA is a world beater Edelman played Four less games and still produced more nuff said!

Hogan who's much younger with more long speed cannot get open anymore. At this point I don't think the older and much slower Dola can do better.

Can Dola still get open? He’ll be two years older than he was the last time he was here.

The answer as to "can?" depends largely on how many WRs BB plans to keep, and how many of this year's receivers are coming back. If you're looking at Edelman and Gordon coming back, you're adding both the SlotWROFT and an OWR/OWR2 and you're only carrying 4 + Patterson, for example, there's no room for Amendola/Dorsett/Hogan.

The answer as to "should?" is going to vary by person. Me, I'd rather see what I've noted elsewhere:

Edelman
Gordon
Dorsett
OWR1/OWR2
SlotWR
Patterson

because I think that gives a nice blend of veterans familiar with the system and still young enough to be kept around for years, if wanted, and new additions.

But I may be whistling past the graveyard when it comes to Dorsett, because his usage suggests that the team isn't really interested in him.

I’m not too optimistic about Gordon coming back next season, so that’s something to factor.

He can't be trusted.

How many more suspensions will it take to see that he doesn't care?

For informational purposes only:

Phil Perry thinks it unlikely that either Amendola or Hogan are on the Patriots next season. He considers it more likely that Dorsett returns (He didn't say that he expected it. He just said that he could see it happening, if the money could be worked out).

Love DA. But it’s time to get younger at the position not older.

Need a beast draft pick like a JuJu or Mike Evans. Youth on a rookie deal.

Finding that beast in this year's draft is where the difficulty lies.

I agree with this but only if Dorsett signs a cutable contract because I think that he's vulnerable to a FA or a seemingly talented WR who falls to us in the draft ~ 3rd round. I continue to be mystified how on one hand Dorsett makes plays and doesn't do drops and then goes on a milk carton for the next games. Gotta be perceived matchups.

Edleman, Amendola, Berrios, Dorsett, Patterson and if Gordon could ever come back and stay clean....It could be a lot worse.
Still need to get a good one either high in the draft or free agency. I think it would be the height of foolishness to rely on Gordon again. Put him on the roster again, sure - but treat him roster- and game-plan-wise like he's the third or fourth option, so if we lose him again we're not left with Edelman and a bag of chips like this year.

Yeah, I don't know why all these supposedly dogged local reporters never bothered looking into whatever was going on with regards to Dorsett this season.

Mike Giardi is speculating that the Jets will blow their $95M in cap space on him.

Great for DA he plays us twice again next year that man loves the AFC Least.:D

I don't see him returning.

My guess is Edelman, Dorsett, draft pick, Patterson and Berrios/FA
