Ideal Draft

I am beginning to think that bb will trade out of the #32 pick and try and collect a second for 2020.

This draft is so deep, that the player skill difference between 32 and 42 is very tiny. But the extra year of control will be important to someone,
Extremely possible, hopefully acquires a haul if so

I never start researching players properly until after the season ends but I'd like to get the following in the first 3 rounds .

TE
DL (probably DT but DE if we don't resign Flowers).
WR
S

The wildcard is QB. If there is one there that Bill likes, I say get him over any other position.

CBS is mocking Texas de Omenihu to us in the first round. I think this would be an excellent pick for us.

He has ideal size and done pass rush skills and he can set the edge in the running game.

Think i have hit my perfect draft...

  • TE T.J. HOCKENSON - IOWA
  • WR D.K. METCALF - MISSISSIPPI
  • EDGE ZACH ALLEN - BOSTON COLLEGE
  • LB GERMAINE PRATT - NORTH CAROLINA STATE
  • WR RILEY RIDLEY - GEORGIA
  • LB VOSEAN JOSEPH - FLORIDA

I feel they will draft dexter lawrence dt and also irv smith te. Who else? I think he likes te'von coney lb.

Another mock draft you should all look at is Draft Tek Mock for us, wouldn’t mind there draft at all

Lawrence would fill a huge hole in the defensive line since brown and Shelton are free agents.

Bb loves the veterans, so I expect him to sign at least one run stuffing DT, not named Wilkerson.

Just started watching tape and Lawrence was my first watch. My feeling was that he has BB pick written all over him. So tough to move in the run game and takes double teams for fun. He might not get the production himself but he’s going to enable the rest of the DL/LBs to play. I would not be disappointed with him at 32 at all.

I am anticipating that we will have 6 of the first 102 picks.

My goal would be

1st round - de Ferguson la tech
2nd round - safety thornhill Virginia
2nd round - DT Lawrence LSU
3rd round - OT Hyatt Clemson
3rd round - olb Jennings Alabama
3rd round - DT Russell auburn

No WR no TE's I suppose you feel we would fill those NEED in FA??

Wilkins, DT
TJ Hockenson, TE (really want this guy)
Taylor Rapp, S
Sternberger, TE (double dipping at TE)

Now that's a Draft I would appreciate.

I'd love to double dip at TE this year, even if Gronk doesn't retire. Lots of talent there this year, one guy you should all look at is - Keenan Brown

Sadly they all keep moving up the draft boards. Wilkins and hockenson both seem to be in the top 15 range right now. I've seen Sternberger get some love as well. Not 1st round love, but he's moving up.

I hope guys like Fant and Irv Smith knock it out the park at the combine, then maybe hockenson can fall to us at 32.

Wilkins is gone. That khalen saunders dude looks interesting as a 2nd or 3rd round guy. Insane athleticism and speed for his size. Lots of dt's in this draft.

Saunders is a guy i like but i have him around4-5th round at the moment

Which is probably right, but 'at the moment' is the key phrase. He was dominant at the senior bowl and pops on tape. The guy can do a standing back-flip, so I think it's safe to assume, that he's going to test well.

I just think that many draft copies of the guys who are having succes in the league. Hockenson's draft stock probably hasn't suffered from the success of kittle. Likewise, everybody wants a new Aaron Donald, and while he's not Donald, he has some Donald-like traits.

My ideal draft for the first 3 rounds would be:
1.32 TJ Hockenson, TE Iowa
2.56 J.J. Arcega-Whiteside WR, Stanford
2.64 Jerry Tillery DT, Notre Dame
3. 73 Amani Hooker, S, Iowa
3. 97 Josh Oliver TE, San Jose State
3. 101 TJ Edwards OLB, Wisconsin

Oh yeah I agree he’s athletically ridiculous, just don’t think he’d be that high up on our draft board for a 2/3rd pick. If he’s a 4th and 5th then yeah I’d take him.

That's fair. It's still early - and I might wise up in the coming months - but I'd take him in the third. Second round might, after all, be too rich.

I’d take him with our late 3rd comp. I have no problems with him! Reminds me of Adam butler a bit! Any other guys you like?

Still early in the process, and I have not really looked at that many positions yet. Mostly TE.

But here's a small list of guys that I like - It will change and a lot of guys will be added and removed over the next few months.

QB: Don't really like any of them. If Brady actually does play till he's 45, then it might also be to early to draft an heir. Stidham in the mid to late rounds I'd be okay with, but as I said, don't really see that big of a need.

TE: Love Hockenson. Love him, but I'm clearly not the only one, so he might be out of our reach. I also really like Jace Sternberger. There are a lot of TE's in this class, but for now those two are my favourites.

WR: I really like Andy Isabella. Yes, he's small, but he's a playmaker. A mix of Julian and Hill. It's a deep class, haven't really looked at too many of them yet, I'm sure there'll be a few more binkies revealing themselves when I do.

LB: I think I like guys like TJ Edwards and Joe Giles Harris, but I'm not sure there's a big need at the position.

S: Taylor Rapp and Juan Thornhill are two I have on my list for now. Some youth would be welcome at the position.

As I said, I haven't spent that much time going through the positions yet. However, It does look like it could be a really good draft to have 12 picks in - 4 in the top 75 and 6 in the top 100.
