The fix?

"The game was fixed" seems to be gaining a lot of momentum in the last 5-10 years. I don't remember people claiming the game was fixed before that -- at least not at this frequency -- but now it seems like more people than ever are convinced the league has an agenda.
Patriot haters are running out of things to latch on to, so they move to the fix idea.

The haters rolodex:
"they would be nothing without the tuck rule" - too dated, can't use
"too physical, they get away with everything on D!"- made irrelevant by rule changes
"they only won due to spygate"- also out of date
"haven't won anything since spygate"- also out of date
"they deflate the footballs, that's why they win!" - made to look silly by the facts and by performance post-deflategate
"they are lucky all the time! Pete Carroll choked! ATL choked" - still see some of this, but following it up with two more SB trips kinda makes them back off from this one

What's left for them? Two options:
1) Admit that the Patriots dynasty is amazing, born out of hard work, intelligence, and clutch play
or
2) argue that the fix is in.

The diehard haters will do anything to avoid option 1.

It's ceased being annoying and is just entertaining at this point. The peers of the diehard haters, even some ex-haters, are starting to call out their stupidity.

I would think that the folks who think the fix is in are fans of WWE and NASCAR. I watched my share of NASCAR back in the day, and I really believe "the call" is a thing.

I had it on good authority that the fix was definitely going to be in last night. But we won. How? Was the game fixed against the Rams? Or was it fixed against us and we just overcame the fix? Will the fix be in next year?

I guess the power of the NFL wanting the Rams to move into a new stadium with a Super Bowl title -- which totally seems like an important and reasonable thing on which to risk the integrity and future of the sport not to mention billions of dollars in revenue -- wasn't enough to overcome Danny Shelton's desire to show up.

I'll never tell.

I'm just happy the guy that won the millions betting against Pats at last years SB lost his azz this year. Conspiracy theorists can GFT.

I know you guys are joking and all, but I am waiting for someone on the Rams bandwagon to start running their mouth about a fix or conspiracy or something.
It would have already happened, except the Rams don't have any fans.

Very, very well-said.

Everybody should prepare themselves for the biggest screw-job-officiated championship game
in league history, if that's what it takes for Los Angeles to have a trophy to show the investors.

From the thread where people were congratulating Sean Payton for being a crybaby who can't accept getting out-coached. If the league rigs against the Patriots but they still have won once every three years since Brady took over, why wouldn't you just laugh at how bad they are at it? Add to it his anti-Belichick campaign and I'd imagine there are a few circles that the Captain is struggling to square today (assuming self-awareness).

The tin hat brigade just got to see a game the refs had every opportunity to decide, but instead they just did their job as usual. I wonder if it's a disappointment to see how completely wrong they were, if they're even happy today. Thank you for making fun of them formally, Kontra, as this is a strain of Pats Fandom that I cannot abide without mockery.

I thought you obtained photographic evidence of the fix as displayed in your sig.
