FYI to those who thought the game was over when it was 3-3 in the 4th quarter...

Maybe get out of the GDT?

I don’t know anyone IRL who felt that way.

Agreed, I love this site, but I almost never go on the GDT. When I do go in there it doesn't take long for me to remember why I usually avoid it. It's like watching the game with my father in law, the second one thing goes wrong they suck and they are going to lose.....

Some of my family members were looking for a hopeful comment from me at halftime. (Phone Call family during important games). When I called them, they were still watching with 3 minutes left i nthe half...(internally) like WTF, why watch the game on delay and not in real time.

Anyhow, I told them that the ToP favored us and if we continued doing what we had been doing in the 2nd half, then we'd get plenty of chances in the 4th as we'd probably leave them gassed. Both Ds played real hard and I was thinking we'd either have them worn or our could put in the finishing blow with the hurryup (so they couldn't sub).

Never real comfortable, but never felt like we weren't in control. Did enough to get some yards, but couldn't finish some drives. People seem to be resigned to the fact that the Patriots are great and have run out of ways to hate them. They seem to have surrendered to their will to compete & outlast.

Ha, I'm wondering if your father in law is my father ?

There's a lot of people who deserve a callout. I'm not talking about one or two meltdowns here or there, I'm talking 90% of the game bemoaning how awful we were, that we traded JimmyG, etc.

Like the OP says I don't know how you can see us be 3-28 and COME BACK yet be in a hurry to put a fork in us when we're leading 3-0.

He actually wasn't even bad in the thread from what I can remember. He's just been like that all season. I've eaten my crow. Now I'd like to watch others eat theirs, too.

I agree 100%. For some reason, I felt the Pats were in complete control of the game. This sounds crazy but it felt like one of those games from 2003. Thinking about the Browns game at Gillette that ended up 9-3. The score looks close but they were never really in it.

That did seem to be the way of it. How I'd put it is the Patriots seemed to be coming up modestly short of putting some scoring drives together, near the cusp. OTOH the Rams O was going all but no where. Except once there wasn't any instance where I felt the Rams were on the cusp/gassing the Patriot D. It ultimately gave the impression the Patriots were in control.

With that said, what mattered was the score. And the score, tied, suggested the first team to score a TD was going to firmly in the driver's seat. And who would get the first TD -- while it seemed more likely it would be the Patriots -- was wide open. That left it open for a ton of apprehension about the final outcome.

Don’t hold your breath. Posters like FCB, Tennisballhead, Captain Stone and some other notables have been screeching the same old negative sh.t for years and years and no matter how often they have been proven to be completely wrong they still keep acting as though they are the “ realists.”

I don’t think everyone needs to be blindly optimistic all the time. And sometimes, we all get a little sad.

We’ve all thrown a controller or shut off a tv or yelled and cursed and whatnot. There are games we will lose no matter how much one believes. And there’s a point for all of us that is too much.

But I think we can all agree 3-3 is not the point to abandon all hope.

Keep that **** in the GDT.

Who thought that? We need to name names!

I avoided the GDT entirely and felt pretty good the entire game, so I think I came out ahead in that one. I don't see how you can feel pessimistic when the other team didn't lead for a single second of the game...

I think badly outgaining another team, especially one as talented as the Rams, and not having the actual points to show for it, is usually reason for concern. Typically with two ultra talented teams, the yardage amounts will even out more, and there’s a feeling that these are games you often lose. But the defense went balls out for the whole game, something near impossible in the modern NFL.

Avoiding the GDT will make for a much more enjoyable experience. It used to be a great companion piece to the game at one point and now it's mostly the usual gloom and doom.

Why would anyone go to the Game Day Thread during a playoff game? While there are some good posters there who do use things like facts and logic, by in large, that place is a cesspool of ignorance. A complete disgrace to Patriot fans.

Little did the doubters know it was in the bag the whole time.... I changed into a more lucky shirt after the 3rd.

You’re welcome

I am amazed people would spend time in the GDT while the Pats are in the SB. Get a life.

Something as special as your own team playing in that game deserves spending and sharing it with other live humans.

Who was the poster after the Titans game that said they were quitting the Patriots? I really want to know who that was but I don’t want to put in the effort. I would like to ask how their first Super Bowl as a non-Patriots fan went?

I don’t know. Other live humans are pretty dumb sometimes too. Especially when you get a ton of casual fans talking loudly during the game but focusing on the commercials.

The GDT has probably actually caused cancer so it should probably be avoided, but I much prefer the company of those in the chat room over the majority of real people I encounter at the average Super Bowl party.

Wait, are you saying everything posted in the GDT are by robots?
