B.G.C. 2019 NFL Draft/Patriot-Type Players Thread

@BaconGrundleCandy Thoughts on AJ
Brown?

This WR class may not have a Julio, Calvin type Guy, but I think there’s going to be a lot of value in this years draft personally
Hes only been a big slot & think thats his role next level which imo is tough sledding. If he cant run & put up #'s at the combine Im not interested. If he cant win outside in college good luck next level. More interested in DK/Lodge tbh. DK is a freak not much needs to be said except is his heart/head really football 24/7. If it is he should do very well. Lodge can do a lil of everything really well & seems to be the kind of guy that sticks as a 2/3 wr on a team. Have to like how he established himself along side those two big names as well.

Anyone reading knows I really like Nauta. Would love to see us w any combo of Fant, Hock, Smith or Nauta. We definitely need a double dip w pass catchers

My ideal draft would be the following not sure what order though...

TE x2
WRx2
DL/Edgex2
MLBx1

I’d love if we could give Brady some more guys to throw to. I’d happily double dip on TEs this year, as this class is so deep with them , I think you will find value in every round for them this year.

WR anyone from the 3rd round onwards, if they have the smarts and understanding of how the offensive system will be run.

DL- Run stuffer who can push the pocket....

Edge - Texas DL #90 cant spell his name for toffee

MLB - speed and speed. Take a late round flyer on someone unless someone falls for us.

Deonte Harris WR/KR - Crazy explosive speed. Small school guy. Could be a special team returner.

Papi White WR/KR (unreal name) - Very under rated in my opinion. Works out of the slot, and is crisp in the routes that he runs. Explosive in his speed as well.

Keenen Brow TE/WR/Flex- Very solid in Pass and Run Blocking. Good speed and very solid hands. He may be the closet thing to what AH was. He's technically undersized at 6'2 but has the weight at 250. Would love to see him here

I love to see what you guys think of him..

It’s his size that worries me. Think he’s 5”11 and around 220. Please feel free to correct me on this. Can we see BB drafting someone like this or will he want slightly more size

Bill has seemed willing to at least give lighter linebackers a test drive, as Kamier Gruger-Hill and Matt wells picks have been on the smaller side. He was also rumored to love Sua Cravens in that draft. The height is a few inches shorter than those but the talent is there, so I wouldn’t rule him out.

Cravens was more of a safety rather LB, but would be interesting not sure if he falls to us though

Yea i get that, very interested to see what he measures in at. His nose for the football is incredible though. Dude just finds the ball. Vg job at playing full speed, locating & making a play. Idk I really like him & plays like this show up a lot. Esp closer to the line, flat, shallow mof.

I like Baker and Love the best on that list, but I could see the others having a higher ceiling in the pros. What do you think about Cheevers' teammate Brandon Sebastian? He flashed a bit for me while watching BC. I'm keeping an eye on him for the next couple years.

Rodney Anderson, what's the thoughts on him?

@BaconGrundleCandy might feel differently, but I think he's an ideal RB for today's game. In fact, I think he's a similar type of player to Todd Gurley, although not quite as fast. He lacks a ton of film / reps. Anderson doesn't have the same lateral suddenness that Gurley has, but he has similar power and urgency in his play. Good pass catcher. I'd like to see him paired up with Michel long term if we move on from Burkhead. Everything depends on the medicals and how far he falls in terms of value.

Wasn't sure what to make of him, i'd really like us to get another Blount type back.

Burkhead still worries me whenever i see him carrying the ball, but he does give us special team value as well.

Hill, i thought was a great Free Agency signing but sad he got injured when he did. He may not be back, depending on how he comes back.

So ideally i'd like us to get another RB for those, but i don't really want us to spend a high pick on a back when we have more bigger needs

If you want a strong big back, check out Ryquell Armstead. Like him a lot as a late round guy.

Absolutely. Seems like the typical smart, tough BC DB but that awareness flashed on some deep stuff. He looked very calm & comfortable playing his man then ball once he located it, if he got the chance. Same in run support. Quick, decisive. I think he could pretty good.
