Really don't understand the hate for Mahomes.. seems like a good dude, crazy talented, doesn't really trash talk or act out.. just don't get it.

I don't hate him. He's a great player. I do wish people would stop placing him in the HOF after one season, but he is amazing out there. That said, that's not what this thread is about. Never doubted his skills as a QB. His [physical] skills are arguably better than Brady's. This isn't about skill.

And there is your answer as to why Mahomes will never be Brady, because even TB12 at Mahomes age would have been entirely way too disappointed and pissed off to even look at the fans after just losing the season-ender at home, in a game he was favored to win.

Mahomes is a great player, but he's basically a kid and he does not understand quite yet what it takes to be great. Perhaps he will learn, but after seeing him high-five a few Chiefs fans on his way down to the tunnel after last night's game, I felt bad for Chiefs fans. Prepare for many more letdowns from this guy. JMHO..
You should feel bad.

Well I also mentioned him seeming like a good dude, no trash talk or bad off/on field behavior.. I can understand getting annoyed with the hype, but that's not really his fault.

Showing respect to fans who supported you all year and then froze their butts off to try to give you a big Home Field Advantage in a Championship Game seems like a savvy, mature and classy move to me.

Fair enough, but really has nothing to do with the thread. The point of the thread wasn't to say Mahomes sucks or that he's a jackass. It was to say he lacks the killer instinct (at least at this stage) that will elevate him to the top of the heap, ala Brady.

Jesus. How about we just tip our cap to a guy who lead a ferocious 4th quarter comeback and may have sent the Pats packing if not for Mathew Slater's coin calling skills extraordinaire and leave it at that, huh?

Regards,
Chris

For me it's cause he looks like Steph Curry and is actually just as good as him so I project my Curry hatred onto him. Mad respect though.

ummm, Mahomes is pretty f'n killer. He didn't have a top supporting defense to help him out it is what it is. Dude stayed on field shook hands through disbelief. He was in close proximity to fans walking back to locker and did a nice gesture as most have said. I'll reiterate, he's pretty f'n killer. Just unfortunate for him that he the other side of the field had the greatest and most clutch there's ever been

Mahones is a worthy opponent. He took us to the brink, twice. If he can keep it up, he'll be fun to watch years after Brady hangs it up.

This might go down in the history of posts made by the public as the most asinine.... I mean like at worst top 5 ever posted comments on anything

Seems like some of you guys don't want to critique him at all, because we just beat him and thus you feel as though it would be diminishing the Patriots victory if we say anything bad about him. I don't see it that way. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

I think the OP is a child because he/she does not understand that there is not only one personality available for a champion.

Mahomes is a champion? Of what?

It's a bad post for sure. But your ridiculous posts today about Brady not being able to throw/shouldn't be throwing are just as bad.

So, if Brady walked by fans after a loss, he'd be "bush league"?

So every great athlete who's ever ignored their home fans after an embarrassing, season-ending loss are "immature". Got it.

Seems like you are working pretty hard to defend a take you may not have given enough thought to. If he was doing that at 33 with 10 years as a starter having shown him it's not so easy to get to the AFCCG then you might somewhat justify being annoyed by a cavalier attitude towards a loss of that magnitude but the kid is in his first year as a starter. He just returned gestures of appreciation to the fans, like many young guys that got there early before him (Marino comes to mind) he has little understanding of how difficult it may be to get back. Cut the kid some slack
