Saw this article earlier. Looks for facts based than a “hot take”. Statistically he did decline.

Good grief, I like how a "bad year" from Tom Brady is throwing for 4300 yards, 29 TDs and a 97.7 passer rating and leading his team to an 11-5 record (yards and rating both better than 2014, the year of his fourth Super Bowl title). He most likely played through an injury for a good chunk of the year and seldom had the multitude of consistent weapons that other QBs in the league have. I'd still want him leading my team!!

I mean, if you keep writing "Brady in decline" articles it will eventually come true. The problem is people started this in like 2013. When he was statistically much worse overall than he is now.

In both cases there were significant issues with Brady's receiving weapons that got glossed over. This year there was an absolute decline in quality compared to 2017, and a constant revolving door of what players even suited up to catch passes from game to game.

I love when they don’t come true

They set their clocks to midnight and they’re just waiting for it to show up.

Once again, I think they are going to be disappointed .... the pats OL is the best on the chargers have faced this year...... watch for a big day on the ground

It’ll be below freezing at kickoff. May be snowing. I’ve never seen rivers play in that weather

Agreed. If an expert came out in 2013 and said "Brady has two good years left. End of story. He will be finished for good after 2015", then it would mean something. Of course he will decline. I will also die someday. Duh. Argh hate experts.

He’s 10-7 in below 40 games.....so he’s going to be ok.....doesn’t matter though.....I think the pats will show more toughness Sunday than they have all year. I would not be surprised if there wasn’t a fair amount of sandbagging this season

I mean, let's break down the receiver issues he willfully glosses over:

2018 Hogan looks cooked compared to 2016 Hogan
Dorsett is absolutely worse than either Amendola or Mitchell in '16
Gordon got busted and is gone, so is automatically way less valuable than anybody, but especially vs. Cooks
2016 Gronk was out, 2018 Gronk looks cooked For Real, 2017 Gronk was an All-Pro again

Best OL the pats have had in a long time....it starts there......it’s statement time for this unit

Dont disagree with your sentiment but we do have to keep in mind he missed 4 games worth of stats in 2014.

I was going to post this same thread, but with a different title. There ARE people who are creaming their pants and frothing at the mouth over the idea of Brady losing, and it is just insufferable.

It doesn't matter which manner the Pats lose, if they do, they'll all just say Brady choked and that he's washed up.

The headlines and story will be revolting. You'll have people who hate Brady with a passion, be more happy about the Pats losing than their team's winning.

And no, there is no "Just ignore them." Brady is the most despised player ever. The haters will be on the edge of their seats, waiting for the moment to post their ********.

Brady hate isn’t that widespread anymore. There are many players way more hated than Brady.

Ummm....okay.

You might have missed this but Brady won and the critics/haters lost in a blowout. He is the #1 QB of all-time on virtually every list by an actual publication. He has won 5 SBs (record), 4 SB MVPs (record), 8 conference championships (record), 235 games (record), and has lapped the field in every stat/win category for playoffs and Super Bowls, with essentially 2X as many yards and touchdowns in playoffs and Super Bowls. He has 27 playoff wins. He has three MVPs, 14 pro bowls (tied for record), and will soon be passing Manning (perhaps with Brees) for the most yards and TDs in NFL history.

He owns every record and accomplishment in NFL quarterbacking, and he’s just putting more distance between him and the field.

So who gives a crap about what his haters are doing? Most of them are probably dead, waiting at some point in the last 20 years to say “told you so.” The rest will die before another quarterback is in the conversation as GOAT again. Being a Brady hater was not a good investment.

That doesn't even matter. They'll still reply with Brady lost to Nick Foles and will screech at the top of their lungs that Phillip Rivers is Brady's daddy, even if Brady owns Rivers in the past.

It's just non-stop regurgitation, just like it was with the cheating accusations. We can't continue giving these morons ammunition. It's time to shut them up and win another super bowl trip.

You mean like the thread I saw online saying Brady lost to a backup QB in Foles?

It was pointed out that he threw for 3 TDs, no int and over 500 yards leading to over 30 points and that Foles actually played amazing (not as good as TB12 ironically) and defeated our horrible defense not Brady...I doubt that mattered to the children laughing it up. My thought is, who cares? The internet and NFL fandom is certainly filled with these idiots but they're just a vocal minority. The vast majority of actual football fans know greatness when they see it. Many also are simply beaten down from 20 years of having their sh!t pushed in by Brady and BB so any chance to gloat they take it.

The disrespect, tears and hate used to bother me in the first couple of SB runs era....around 2007 when the triggered soccer moms were crying about running up the score and spygate I began to drink it up. It was hard before 2014 when we won it all again and since then I just enjoy the hell out of the denial. Animated gifs of Brady and his 5 rings and pro patriots memes are a satisfying reply to social media trolls.

I think people outside of New England may treat Brady the same way I treated Michael Jordan.

I was a kid when MJ went on is streak. I rooted against him. I thought it would be cool to see David knock off Goliath. SO yes, I rooted like heck for those Suns, Sonics, and Jazz only to have MJ's greatness shut me up. I hated him for it.

Then, funny thing happened, the guy retired and I couldn't do anything but have respect for the guy. I appreciate him more after the fact than when he was playing. I actually have since bought some MJ dvds.

I bet Brady will be more appreciated in retirement than as a player (at least by the people outside of New England).

You’re not that clever of a troll. It’s too obvious, like having a tell in poker. Nice try.
