Kid's got intangibles off the charts. Incredibly accurate and has TB clutch genes. His dart throws would fit perfectly in this offense. And Nick Saban and Bill Belichick go way back. So if BB gets the scoop from Nick saying this is the best thing since sliced bread would you be in favor of BB cleaning out the cupboard and making it impossible for TB to overcome a team full of JAGS in order to secure the top pick or would you feel comfortable giving up 2 1rsts and 2 2nds to get him? We've had our picks swiped in the past and managed to succeed without them. Not to mention we haven't been drafting well anyways.

As you can see from my sig, i don't mind picking up "Heir" Jordan from Utah state but I feel Tua is going to be the better qb and would rather have him but I know it's a gigantic leap for this organization to trade away a kings ransom for a top draft pick. I would have to choose the tank for Tua route. BB needs the draft picks to build the roster around Tua. The year will come and go and we will then be talking about another 15 years of greatness.

What do you guys think?

How NFL scouts view Tua Tagovailoa

In the history of the NFL tanking and giving away half your draft for a single player has never, ever backfired.

I'm all in!

Mike Lynn is that you???

As an Alabama Homer, I'm all in on the kid. Other players are available in the draft from there, and any would have a reasonable chance of fitting in, as Saban runs basically a light version of New England's system.

As much as I like Tua, would neither tank or sell the farm, doubt if the Pats will ever deviate from their winning formula.. Mr. Kraft likes the return on his investment..

No way. If we, for some reason were ever going to bet the farm on any one player, I would rather it be Trevor Lawrence. Much more complete arsenal and the ability to diagnose and understand what is coming at him.

And he's only a freshman.

Both have bright futures. I have questions about Tua’s ability when defenses effectively choke off the left side of the field. The problem is that he hasn’t ran into too many defenses that have the personnel to do that and give him fits at the college level. And, even though we only have a one year sample size, you have to question his long-term durability as well.

Play to win the game.

Going to be quite exciting to watch them square off against each other on Monday night. My money is on Lawrence.

Yeah, I think Clemson is capable of knocking them off. If Lawrence is able to guide Clemson to a win... at 19... against Nick Saban... on the biggest stage in all of college sports, his stock will vault tremendously.

"Tank for Tua"

Shed the team's on-field intellectual capital, pull the plug on the existing locker room "mentoring" culture, and truncate the team's string of 18 consecutive seasons above .500 - deliberately? And then, have to rebuild all of that from scratch by the time Tua's rookie contract runs out?

"Sell the Farm for Tua"

If there's one thing that BB's tenure has proven, it's that it's relatively easy to maintain a winning team year-after-year through cautious, incremental annual roster turnover. Sacrificing a couple years worth of high draft picks for one "savior" significantly attenuates the ability to do that.

Not to mention the possibility that Tua might turn out to be significantly less than a "savior".

Nope.

He’s good but a little overrated I think. He’s got the best talent around him and has toothpicks for legs and has durability concerns

He’s a lefty, they’re a jinx. It messes up your vision. There’s never been a good lefty QB in the NFL, sorta like there’s never been a good lefty punter either. You don’t think TB wouldn’t have tried to throw lefty if he could execute and win more?

if Bb ever tried the "Tank for {player name here}", Goodell would immediately put in a rule to prevent tanking, make it retroactive to the previous year, and take away a 1st and 2nd.

Jake Fromm or Trevor Lawerence have my vote.

RLKAG (probably 2)

Never say never. Young and Stabler left HoF careers on the field and Esiason was good enough to actually win playoff games with the Bungals.

edit: yes, I know you were being 'playful'
