If you’re fired, you are paid off and he can come back to scouting and broadcasting. What’s not to like?
Didn't belichick coach Mayock back in the day or something as low level coach? He's been one of the better draft analysts to date and has been consistently good at it going all the way back to '04. Belichick also has a lot of respect for him. Doing what he's doing now and helping Gruden pick the groceries are not all that different. Whether he'll actually be a good one, going forward, is another topic. This is his first time in that position, IIRC. But his qualifications for the job are fine.

I don't understand the Kevin Bacon reference. Who is he and what did he do?BB is the Kevin Bacon of the NFL.
Mayock was on the Giants in 1982-1983.
I'll let you connect the dots
Actually Vegas soon....and who knows where they'll play next year ...........
With his profile from the draft he could easily make it up in endorsements and the such but you're probably right that cash is king.
Too late, they gave away their whole roster and Carr seems to be a bust.

According to OTC, the Raiders are not only going to have all those draft picks to work with, but they're also going to have something like $70m under the cap to start the year.
He had such a sweet gig, why? Why subject yourself to the hours the scrutiny and the **** show that is the Raiders?
