Marvin Lewis finally fired

They’ll come crawling back. They’re meant for eachother.

I thought Gase made the most of what he had. A playoff team 2 years ago, Cutler was a lost year, and had them in playoff contention this year with a very bad roster.
He had 3 years to turn it around. Went 10-6 then 6-10, 7-9 ( which really isn’t “playoff contention”). You could say every losing coach has a bad roster but he had 3 years to coach the team up and didn’t.

They were 26 and 28 in points scored the last 2 years. That will get offensive minded coaches fired in a hurry.
A good offensive coach will have his system in place and his players adept in it after 3 years no matter what he inherits.

We didn’t clinch the division till week 16 which means they were in contention. I wouldn’t have canned Gase and instead canned the GM. Aside from Tunsil that offense has no one that is better than average. He was scheming up ways to get some of their speedy receivers on offense in space and until they got injured there was a stretch where he made it work. If Josh leaves I wouldn’t mind having him as an OC at all.

Gase to Denver would be good for him and Denver.

Well we disagree.
My expectation is that coaches get the job done not that we make excuses for them.
It was his show and he failed. He has only had good offenses under him when he was Manning’s caddy with a title.

I definitely see your point. In the end of the day wins are all that counts so it looks like the AFC East coaching carousel continues to spin.

TBH I think it was his final say on roster changes that was his undoing. Paired with a decent GM I believe he would be a more than adequate HC
