4 star Recruit from Immolalee, FL which turns out a lot of elite talent. Went to UF before getting in with some bad friends. Had good coaching there and at Maryland.
My binkie.
He will have some bumps in the road with the physicality and avoiding flags, but all the rest of what we need is there. You’ll see a similar style from Dawson if he makes it on the field. They have almost the same measurables. I guess JC is a bit taller but those height measurements are always suspect.
You guys are sleeping on Crossen, I think he will be another good one for us.
Yes Mr. Jackson has been rapidly improving.
Just like I coach em'
Seems like bb has great success finding defensive backs from the udfa pool, but yet when he over drafts them in the second round, he seems to misfire a ton and those rally cost us.
His defining moment for me was in the Steeler game when Shuster hit him with a double move. Not only did JCJ react well he caught up to Smith and was in great position. He was outstanding on JuJu Smith Schuster. That's the benchmark right now which means he can hold his own and then some v top WRs
I'm not sure hes the second coming of Mike Haynes yet but the kid is playing beyond his years

I have been trying. They just don't possess Cat like quickness.Super job with the secondary and all Sammy. Now if you could just move on to doing some work with the front...that would just be great.

The kid has GREAT size for a CB, but also seems to have equal amounts of quickness and speed, which is shocking for an UDFA. With more experience he will develop a better awareness of where the ball is when he is in close coverage. That, imo, is a weakness in his game, but one that can only be resolved with more experience.
I'd love if some mediot would do a story on just WHY this kid fell completely out of the draft. Don't tell me there were off field questions on him. Hell, the NFL have drafted some serious bad people over the years. Yes they might have dropped because of off field issues, but they still got picked. If this kid's measurables were even close to what we are seeing now, then SOMEONE would have picked him, even in the last 2 rounds. Christ the Pats passed on him 7 rounds.
Well it's got to be something in the water. The Steelers seem to have magic in getting recievers, the Pats seem to have the same magic when it comes to CB's. No way to understand the why of it.
This may have something to do with it. Glad it’s behind him and he’s being a productive member of society/team.Yup was just about to ask why he wasn’t drafted.
But also want to know, is anyone else giddy about this guy? I’m not saying he’s the best CB in the league...I’m just saying the statistics say he is.

I'm sorry Ms. Jackson I am for real never meant to make your daughter cry I apologize a trillion times

Pre-draft height and weight measurements at college all-star games, the Combine, and pro days are performed in public view. If a measurement isn't performed correctly, someone watching will point it out. Historically, height measurements from venue to venue rarely vary by more than 1/8th inch. And, of course, height doesn't usually change significantly over the time span from age 21 to age 31, the length of a long NFL career.
An athlete's weight, OTOH, can change by a few pounds over the course of a day just from changes in hydration levels.
With that said ...
JC Jackson = 5096/201
Duke Dawson = 5105/197
The height difference is 5/8ths of an inch.
Arm length is the same for both = 31.5"
Jackson posted a 35.5" vertical - 1/2" shorter than the McCourty twins at a similar height (5100). All the other Pats DBs posted a 36" vertical, with the exception of ...
Crossen, at 5091, posted a 39.5" vertical.
Melifonwu, at 6040 (!), posted a 44" vertical (!!).
Combine had him at 5-9 3/4Not sure if it's been addressed in this thread yet, but what's with the huge disparity in reported height for Jackson? He seems to be anywhere from 5'10" to 6'1" (his "official" height). My eyes tell me he's on the taller end.

Saw him standing next to DMC on the sidelines and they looked to be the same height and he is 5-11ish.
No way he is 6-1.
