what receiver has he been covering? #2 or #3 or #4? or various?

i love to see this obviously, but need the context around it, is it a real rating or not?
obviously this isn't a full answer to your question, but last week he was certainly on juju all day. he's a #1-level wr for sure. i'm also curious to know this tho

Is this a fluke or is he a legit NFL corner?

From what I've been able to see, when the Pats are in man coverage, Jackson has been singled up on the #1 or #2 WR (switching off with Gilmore). When the Pats are playing pattern-matching zone, Jackson might end up on the #3, but usually the PMZ coverage still includes Jackson and Gilmore manned-up on the outside receivers.

Jackson appears to be entirely legit to me.

He was outstanding on JuJu Smith Schuster. That's the benchmark right now which means he can hold his own and then some v top WRs

I'm not sure hes the second coming of Mike Haynes yet but the kid is playing beyond his years

His ability to play the ball is remarkable. The other thing that’s remarkable is our ability to draft UDFA corners
Perhaps they should stop wasting 2nd round picks on DB’s and just use that money to sign every UFDA DB every year

When he covered JuJu, I don’t think he even had safety help over the top.

Our secondary is looking very strong for next few years.

JC Jackson will be recognized as an elite corner next year. He possesses all the qualities of an elite corner.

Top end recovery speed.

Always stuck to the hip of his assignment in man to man.

The ability to locate the ball

Attacks the football at its highest point.

Catches most of the footballs that touches his hands. Last week on the deep ball to the end zone, He almost ripped the ball out of JuJu's hands for another int but ended up forcing the incomplete with incredible technique.

He and stephon gilmore will make for one of the leagues best CB tandems next year. The good news is we will witness some of it in the playoffs this season.

Our roster may have a lot of unfortunate situations with the cap space.

But the fact that we have a undrafted rookie like Jackaon playing at this level is very exciting to watch. Plus it’ll be a huge bargain having him on the team over the next few years.

How does one draft an undrafted player???

In actuality from a cap space perspective they aren't in that bad of shape. There is another thread in which I've offered some commentary.

If Jackson continues this level of play in 2019, the team would be best served to do something in the offseason as that is when Gilmore will be on the wrong side of 30 and a potential restructure/cap-casualty.

Now they need this to be a transferable skill to other positions especially WR.

Gilmore 28 right now right? So Gilmore will be right at the age of 30 going into 2020.
