It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Pass rusher like Mack is very impactful player who can mess up an offense but can he be netralized with a back chipping him or tight end tandem.? Meaning 20+ mil is a lot for that position or any position other than QB... IMO...
I assume they tried to extend him earlier. There is no way we would know whether they did or not.The Raiders messed this whole Mack thing up for a while now. They should have approached him a year or so ago, and tried to get him to sign an extension then, while he was still making little on his rookie contract and the Raiders still had control over him for a few more years. By letting him get to his contract year, suddenly his pay jumps to 13 million and now the Raiders are stuck.
They got more for him than any defensive player ever traded. Then they turn around and let go of the only real control they had, the fact that Mack was a week away from losing @$800,000 a game. They should have let him either continue to hold out, or risk losing money.
By dealing Mack when they did, Mack, was never at risk for losing any money, and now he can basically bath himself in cash.
They will be top 10 picks, the bears suck. The two first round picks seem great, but then you factor in sending a second rd pick back to the Bears. And now the Bears are going to be a .500 team or better, so those picks are not going to be top ten picks.
Ignoring 23 mill a year, sure Mack is better than draft picks. But the raiders will have 23 mill a year to spend on players and less than half of that will go to the picks. The Bears won this trade, they could make it because they have a rookie starting QB in year 2 of his rookie deal, so he doesn't have to get paid until 2022. Right now Mack counts @13 million against the Bears cap, which is actually less cap money than what the Pats are paying the McCourty twins.
Trubisky will not be the starter in 2020.Of course, if Trubisky gets hurt, or sucks, then the Bears are screwed. But if he stays healthy and performs well, the Bears will be in great shape.
Gotta pay the qb or you can’t compete. The Raiders, on the other hand, have already waaay overpaid for Carr, and now lost the only real playmaker they had on defense. If they start losing right away, things could get really ugly, really fast in Oakland.
Nice way to twist this into your McCourty hate but there is just no way 23 mill a year to a de fits the way this team operates. All things being equal, I wished the Pats would have made this trade, (although I doubt the Raiders would have done the same trade with the Pats). I'd take Mack over the McCourty twins, everyday, and twice on Sundays.
Can you show me a couple of clips of TRIPLE TEAMS? I would love to see the scheme that devotes 3 blockers to one player and figure out why the raiders never decided to send 5 and have a few man every play against that.Proof most on here only watch the Pats & still have no idea wtf their talking about lol.
Mack has been doubled & triple team since day one & he's top 5 in TFL, Pressures & Sacks.
Now he's on a better defense, w a legit option across from him in Floyd.

I mean you can chip him with a te and have an uncovered ol help out but that’s not triple team.I think there’s a clip somewhere of 3 defenders (not blockers) on Gronk but I can’t tell you the actual game. I wonder if Lawrence Taylor ever got that sort of treatment.
Still matters though because a) you can spread that 23 mill pretty far and b) trubisky will need a new contract before too long or you are losing and need more money to overcome him sucking.Which doesn’t matter to Chicago since Mitch is on his rookie deal for another 4 years.
In work, it took 2 mins. Maybe I'll post lata if I have time but again if you watch football you've seen this before. It's not like he's the only one it's happened to.Can you show me a couple of clips of TRIPLE TEAMS? Put some salt on that L. Chew, swallow & repeat.
I like you. You are a good poster here. But, it’s 2018... please retry using another term.
I hear that. But while some disagree, I think there are a few words people should just always avoid. I’m usually on the « society is too sensitive » side, but I guess I think he could have shown astonishment without that word. The poster obviously meant that the trade was stupid or foolish, and it was.

Rams made a big push for Mack. Thankfully that did not happen....
Rams admit they tried to get Khalil Mack
How on earth is that even possible. They're paying marquee players everywhere while the Pats won't or can't commit big dollars to anyone. Our big contracts off the top of my head belong to Brady (underpaid), Gronk (underpaid), Mason(?), Gilmore (?), McCourty(Should be taking a paycut at this point), Ghost(Overpaid), and Hightower (?). The rest are rookies or mid-tier contracts.
