Dear New England Patriots: Thank you for not whining.

^^^These types of responses are the very reason I don't put you on ignore^^^

You don't pay any attention

I do pay attention, He, I just don't come to the same conclusions that you do.

If you paid attention, then you would realize that I do have civil discussions with those that seek such a discussions. MOST "trash talk" is done in RESPONSE to some fool mouthing off.

Funny thing though..."fool mouthing off" is usually a pats fan saying something great about the pats that you disagree with.

First, I said "Almost". I know that you are capable of having civil discussions. You and I actually had a civil back and forth once. My point is that such discourse is not your normal approach.

Second, don't give me that "RESPONSE" crap, because it's simply not true.

As far as player whining, nothing as bad as Adam Sandler Losman but Rodney took shots at Wade when he got hit and to be honest the play on Rodney was cleaner than the Wilfork hit.

Absolute garbage. The Wade hit was about as illegal as it gets.

Only through homer vision, Wade didn't get a penalty or fine for his hit. I know, I know those mean referees and jerks at the NFL head office are out to get the Pats.

My point was the Patriots whine & complain just like every other team. If Brady got hit in a similar fashion I doubt we would be watching slow motion replays to determine how 'clean' the play was.

Allow me to reiterate: this already happened in 2003 against the Bills. I don't remember any furor over a dirty hit then.

I forgot, how many games did Brady miss? and did the league step in and rule that the incident warranted additional punishment, like say a fine.

For the most part the Patriots don't talk a lot because they back up their actions with wins, winning is the ultimate come back. But lets not kid ourselves, they talk trash, they complain and sometimes they whine.

Teams like Buffalo do it more because they have poor discipline and don't win very often.

No, only if you know the rules. But don't let that bother you.

I guess we agree to disagree. How do you think the secondary will do versus the Bengals? With no run game for the Bengals, will it be an issue? Or, will you pressure the **** out of Palmer, and not give him time to find anyone? In the end, probably doesn't matter. Cincy can't win this shoot out.

So, it's only dirty if a) a guy gets hurt and b) the defender gets fined?

Did Von Oelhoffen get fined for his hit on Palmer (I don't think he did, but I could be wrong)? There's no doubt that he meant to hurt Palmer, because he actually wrapped his arm around the knee as he drove his shoulder into it.

Did anyone see the play last year when Haynesworth actually slid spikes up into a player's knee to make a tackle? He didn't get fined for that, either.

The point is the jabronis on here saying, "Well, you guys would be insane if it happened to Brady!" It did happen to Brady, but no one got up in arms about it because it wasn't dirty, just like Vince's hit.

Rodney has to keep his head up on that play, I don't claim to know the rules but I think the league does.

This thread started with the premise the Patriots don't whine. IMO they do, not much but sometimes they do. Rodney had a lot to say about this play.

"Is the league taking any actions against the Titans for low block on Rodney Harrison and will he play again this year?
Frank Parrinello

The league reviewed Bobby Wade’s block on Rodney and declared it legal. The block itself was without a doubt legal since he hit him from the front and not the blind side. The only question was whether or not it was within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage, which would have made it a crack back block and thus been a penalty. The league deemed it was not and replays seemed to back up that ruling. Since Harrison wasn’t placed on IR yet, I guess that means he would have a shot at returning but I would considered it an outside shot given the reports about his knee.
Paul Perillo"

Calling Vince's clean and Kimo's dirty is not objective. It is called being a homer. And yes it makes a big difference if someone (lets just say the starting QB of your team) gets hurt. No so much if it is dirty or clean just on the level of noise. If Wilfork didn't get a penalty and didn't hurt Losman and didn't get fined then it wouldn't be a big deal at all. There would be very little noise from:
  • Bill's fan - dirty hit should be kicked out of the league
  • Pats fan - Losman has to move his knee out of the way of Wilfork's elbow
  • Objective fan - Wilfork didn't need to stick his elbow out, he didn't try to hurt him but he deserves the fine

I don't see a whole lot of people arguing the fine.

How about that blatant spear by Jacksonville on Brady last year? Not even penalized during the game, and yet the next week versus the Titans on national TV even the Pats hating announcers were calling it a spear.

That was a spear, I will go to my grave knowing it was a spear.

Mawae takes out Seymour.

Law takes out Brady.

Rodney gets his knee messed up in the Titans game.

The Pats lose to the Broncos and then the Colts in the playoffs.

An unpresidented spanking from the NFL for a procedural violation.

Not a peep.

Thank you for not whining.

I'm proud of this team...especially after hearing all the whining by other players and teams:

"The better team didn't win."
"They must have stolen our signals."
"They mocked our 'lights out dance.'"
"He broke my helmet."
"They stole our Superbowl."
"The refs are on their side."

If I was a fan of these whining b!tches, I would be ashamed.

Well, I hate to break it to you, but recall Ted Washington's comments concerning Kevin Mawae after having his leg broken. Recall also Rodney's comments concerning the Titans and their propensity for chop blocking. Why do you think he and the defense were so fired up for a preseason game a month ago?

I know the rule, I deal with it every day. You cannot block low if coming from the outside in. Wade was a Flanker, and Rodney was lined up as an in the box SS.

Just because the League reviews something and declares it legal, doesn't make it so. I have seen Mike Pereira do some serious spin doctoring on the NFL Network to explain really bad calls. Even he looks uncomfortable toeing the party line.
