HOF Selects 25 Semi Finalists:

Shotsie only won what, three playoff games though?

The reason he isn’t in is because of how he was completely incapable of winning playoff games. That hurt his legacy big time.

Reid has known playoff blunders as well. But he has at least has won 11 of them, and went to a Super Bowl.
The leveling stat is zero SBs.

Also worth mentioning that he’s only a few wins away from passing Marty. If he coaches another few years then he will be well ahead of him.
I know Shotsie sucked ass in the playoffs but like Reid is a good man. I wouldn't put up a stink if they got in.

Marv Levy and Bud Grant are both in. George Allen as well.
Levy and Grant have 4 SB appearances each. That puts them in a special club.

Is Bill Cowher a HoF coach? Holmgren?

I'm not sure Allen should be in. Great man but are his football credentials HoF material?

Shotty coached 21 years. He had a losing record in 2 of those seasons. Just unfortunate he ran into John elway and The GOAT in the playoffs.

Cowher? Eh debateable. I do think Holmgren should be btw.

What is your criteria for a HOF coach?

I dunno what my criteria is TBH.

I have nothing against Reid, Shotsie, Allen, etc...

I'ma big Coach Coughlin fan and I'm not sure he HoF material...

I’d say yes. Near lock if he wins a Super Bowl.
I don’t think winning one Sb should put a HC in the HOF. I think it should be the best of the best, and yes Tony dungy does not belong in the HOF.

Is Dungy in for being the first black coach to win a SB (which is no small feat)? Otherwise...? No idea why he’s in.

Since Dungys in cowher is prob going in to at some point. They pretty much have the same resume.

Makes you wonder how Dungy not only got in, but so quickly. Both times he left, his teams made the Super Bowl immediately after and he only went to one. What does that say?

I think we know the reason....

Maybe it's an age thing, having watched Allen's and Coryell's teams play I have immense respect for their talent. Allen never coached a losing season and among coaches with 100+ victories has one of the highest all time career win percentages at .681 (.002 behind Belichick) but with the true greats there's more to it than just wins and losses. Like Coryell, Allen was an innovator in every football sense of the word, most of it on the defensive side of the ball but also on special teams. In many respects we have been watching Allen's and Coryell's NFL for most of the Super Bowl era. Sadly with the way D is being legislated out of the game Allen is probably rolling in his grave.

You mean unfortunate he ran into Troy Brown in the playoffs.
