Congratulations World Series champion Red Sox

I wouldn't even say the Dodgers choked, they just got out-executed by Boston. The Sox made the pitches, hits, defensive plays when they needed and got a lights out performance from the bullpen. The Dodgers just ran into a buzz-saw.
The Dodgers were up 4-0 on a team with 1 hit in the top of the 7th inning. They were 8 outs away from tieing the series. They had all the momentum but instead choked. They walked guys at the worst moments in that series. Boston just stepped on their throats and finished it.

Why bother having the guys in front of Price bat at all if you are going to deliberately strand them?
Cleared the pitcher for the next inning. Pearce came up in the eighth and won the MVP.

I’m a Dodgers fan and that was a tough blow. Roberts was the Red Sox MVP. Pulling Rich Hill in game 4 when he had the Red Sox on the ropes was unbelievable. Apparently, there was a lot boos when he walked out to take out Hill. LA times trashed Roberts after that debacle.

Also couldn’t believe how many f***ing times the Sox scored with two outs. Dodgers has their chances but choked. Don’t even get me started on Kershaw.

Yeah that was a head scratcher. Almost like he went by "the book" and had no feel for the situation. A lot of managers are like that. Sometimes it works but a lot of times it costs ballgames.

As for Kershaw obviously he isn't the ace that he was, probably because of the back injuries. Won't be the first pitcher to have their run as a dominant pitcher cut short because of injuries. Same thing with King Felix in Seattle. There's time for Kershaw to adjust to the new reality and avoid Hernandez's fate.

Doubt he opts out under the circumstances.

The story keeps getting more bizarre regarding Hill. He says he told Roberts to “keep an eye on him” due to how well he was pitching. If that was the case, he would’ve old Roberts he’s not coming out and feels fine.

Kershaw is done. He just can’t help himself by getting rocked in a big game.

Cora knew that Pearce was going to be the third player in the history of baseball aged 35+ to hit two home runs in a World Series game?

I'm always amazed at how early managers take out pitchers who are having success. The Hill example was one of those. I think it all stems from the way pitchers are not allowed to stay in games as long now. It's very hard to imagine a pitcher going 14 innings now like Ruth did in the early days.

In the end though the Sox were just a better team and showed it throughout the season and playoffs. They were so good that they overcame the worst closer that I've seen in MLB.

Good luck next year.

Hats off to the Sox. They could’ve taken the rest of the night off down 4-0 in the 7th after an exhausting 18 inning game but ended up kicking the crap out of the Dodgers.

This. I think a lot of Sox fans checked out, but not this team.

Cora's biggest move was pinch hitting Nunez in game 2, IMO.

I think there's something to be said for Alex Cora's leadership. He never seemed to get worked up about anything. I think that kind of quiet cool works well with baseball players.

Let's not forget that Cora was part of the 2007 championship team and was the bench coach for the Astros last year. It's a lot easier to act like you've been there before if you have, you know, actually been there before.

I don't know, but his daughter is going to be pretty, pretttttty, prettaaayyyy cute when she gets older.

Great win for Boston! Why is this city so consistently good at sports?
Competition. Each team knows the others are good, each is afraid to not be good also. Plus, unlike most other areas of the nation there really aren't any major colleges here which consistently compete nationally. NCAA hockey is the exception.

I wasn't focused on the pitcher. There were 3 guys warming in the bullpen. I was focused on two men on with two outs and the pitcher coming up to bat.
Thats fine. Cora obviously looked at the situation in its totality and decided to keep Price in for the reasons I mentioned.

What was wrong with Sale??? Why didn't he pitch more???

This is a joke.
