Man, Ted Johnson was a force until he started having this problem every year.

Jerod Mayo may have also suffered one at some point.
Mayo was a mess those last 3 years. Not sure what the order was but he tore a pec, his patellar tendon and then his rotator cuff.

With Johnson the juice caught up with him.

Not sure how he is running. I had a torn labrum and it hurt to run.

But I'm a middle -aged wimp....

If the bicep is well-wrapped, it should be much bother for light running in a straight line. Also helps elevate metabolism and blood circulation, which can hasten healing.

Sprinting and quick CoD might be tough (and possibly damaging). Contact and tackling would definitely be bad. Lifting is out of the question.

The two major injuries I remember for Mayo were a torn pectoral and the torn patellar tendon that basically ended his career in functional terms as a standout player. He may have also torn his bicep though; I don't remember it but he had a lot of injuries.

Solder definitely tore his bicep in 2015, that sucked too. Overall, seems to be a mixed bag for recovery, but being 22 years old probably helps in Bentley's case.

One thing I have come to learn by following Patsfans. I have become a Doctor, Lawyer, Agent and Mathematician.

Good news is No structural damage. He will come back when doctors clear him, which will be this year. Until then next man up!

Ted Johnson was a beast before his injury. Was becoming an old school mlb as good as any in the league.
After he came back from it he was a horrible lb. All the concussions were probably more to blame than that injury though.

But wasn’t TJs injury a bicep, not a pec? Been a long time. Memory fuzzy about it.

Bottom line for me is that Michel seems highly likely to miss the next three games before the BYE (@BUF, GBY at home, @TEN).

The first game after the BYE is @NYJ, followed by MIN (home). Burkhead is eligible to be re-activated from IR to the 53-man for the MIN game.

Meanwhile, it certainly seems that the Pats will sign another RB besides White and Barner for the interim, so possibly today ... certainly in time for practice tomorrow. Unless, of course, they're simply promoting Farrow from the PS. In that case, that transaction (and the corresponding cut from the active roster) may not happen until Sunday or Monday. If it gets past Wednesday without a new RB signed, the Farrow promotion becomes very likely.

Who gets cut (or sent to IR) is another discussion.

I expect him to be back for the GB game.
The injury was much, much less severe than originally thought so he recovery should be much faster. Stay home from buffalo, get on the practice field middle of next week and play be gb.
That’s my UNeducated guess.

Yeah, IIRC the general sentiment seemed to be that Dawson was a likely candidate to return, Burkhead might plausibly be, and Bentley definitely was not.

Wish it was the other way around in Bentley's case.

I would also guess that he's back before the bye, just based on what's been reported so far. If he's reasonably able to go for the GB game we'll certainly want him in, because the Packers can punish you more than most if you can't shift to ball control after building a lead.

IDK. Playing in the GBY game would men only one week's rest for his injury. That seems optimistic. Green Bay's run-D hasn't been stellar, while the Pats run-blocking has been very good. Even Barner might do well enough.

It's definitely optimistic, but a 2 week timeline for a minor MCL injury is within the realm of plausibility. I agree the odds of him being back that early probably aren't great, but based on everything we've heard yesterday and today it can't be ruled out.

Also, just kinda in general I'm not a big fan of the "even if he's cleared, he should be held out as a purely precautionary measure" way of thinking that gets floated pretty often around here. Well, maybe for someone like Gronk, where it's become clear that 16 game seasons just aren't in the cards for him and he requires careful management to get him through to January. But for basically anyone else, if he's cleared to play for the Green Bay game, then he should play. If he's not, then he shouldn't and won't.

If he is going to be out 2-3 weeks, you would think they would be signing another RB pretty darn quick

If they're signing a new guy, we'll know tomorrow. If they're just going to promote Farrow from the PS, they probably won't make that transaction till the weekend.

It may depend a little on how Barner looks against the Bills. If he looks solid, the Pats might wait an extra week with Michel.

So, no Sony news, or Sony replacement news, then?
