No I’m making a judgement off the fact he is a mistake hitter and thats about it. If you can execute you can get him out. That means off speed away and down, mixed in with plus FB on the black. He is reticent to go with the pitch, and as I pointed out before is manifested with how teams align defensively.

In the post season pitchers more often can execute that gameplan. Make a mistake inside and its gone. Thats not good enough in the post season. Fix that and I will change my opinion. That and the talk is a 250-300 million contract. No thanks.

Of course he is a great player. I never said otherwise. He needs a hitting approach adjustment. People talk about how quick his hands are. This is true. Then why can’t he look outside, and the use those quick hands to yank and inside pitch? If you pay someone 25-30 a year I’d expect that.

Years ago I went to a Bankofamericasox playoff game vs. Tampa Bay. It amazed me how most of the crowd was paying more attention to their smartphones, chatting with friends, etc. I even saw a couple folks reading the newspaper. At a playoff game. In Fenway Park. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz ...

Actually, when I go to a game, I'm fully involved. There's a lot of subtle stuff going on and it's interesting to me. But I also see a lot of the spectators socializing and playing with their phones.

Dude. A player who consistently pulls outside pitches for easy outs yet doesn’t change his approach deserves to be called out for it. When he gets a mistake pitch he murders it. Eck even got excited when a Sox hitter went oppo when they pitched them that way. I wonder why that was? If 3 infielders are on the 3rd base side, and they are staying away....how should you hit?

No shame in being wrong.

Edit: Mookie could hit .400 if he did that. I truly believe that.
