Did you see some of the Raven's formations Monday night? On one, they lined the TE between the right guard and tackle, just off of the line of scrimmage. He then ran a pass route and was uncovered for a large gain. Harbaugh is embracing the dark side.This. Against several other coaching staffs and special teams units, this might actually work (as defined by draw either a time out, 12 man, or offside). But against the Pats? That's what is dumb about it.
I'd love to see the Ravens' reaction. They'd call a time out and then complain to the refs that the Colts did something illegal.
My Take: both teams should schedule naps as part of their preparation.
Isn't this standard for Thursday games?
Always part of my preparation for night games. One of the few things I do that Tarzan the Cat actually approves of.
Butt fumble for me and it’s not close.

I wish that was the case. I had an early meeting today so I was up at 4AM to go to the gym, went straight to work, and I'll be here until 7-7:30 before getting off. I'm already 2 cups of coffee deep and I usually only drink two on the day. I'll be having a third in a couple of hours. Good news is that I have a half a day off tomorrow so I'll be sleeping in.
I usually work out after work but I had a hell of a day ahead of me today and wouldn’t be able to go before the game so I woke up early and went. Felt good this morning but now I’m crashing. Long story short, I had a fact finding about an employee that I’m unfortunately going to have to let go of but I was able to secure him his pension payout with a resignation instead. He should get around $25k or so. He was vested at 5 years. Guy deserves to be let go but he has a family. The rest of the day is my normal day to day to go along with the paperwork I need to file, getting his login info/etc. removed from the network, and all the other crap that goes along with it.4AM for the gym!?!?
Holy ****, you ever thought about just getting fat instead? It’s way easier and more fun
Here's the inside scoop from McAfee on the botched fake punt:
tl;dl
The purpose of it was to try to trick NE into bringing their defense back out on the field in the hopes that at some point during the substitution NE would accidentally have 12 men on the field. The ball would then be snapped to get the penalty and a first down (because there was less than 5 yards to go). This play was in the playbook and all the special teams players knew it.
However, during practice that week an audible was added to do a fake snap call if NE wasn't fooled into bringing their defense on in order to try to get NE to jump offsides. When this audible was added only the "qb" and the gunner who would normally be lined up as center in the trick play were in on that. Griff Whalen (who ultimately ended up as center) was not involved in the audible being installed (he was working with the real punter).
Then in the 2nd quarter of the game the guy who's supposed to be center on the trick play gets injured, so now Whalen has to be the center. However, no one remembered to tell him about the newly-installed audible. So when the snap was called for, he snapped it.
