The Josh Gordon Thread: Pats Officially Acquire Gordon for Fifth-Round Pick

No question Josh has his demons but from top-to-bottom the Skidmarks are a walking clusterf**k of an organization.

-Haslem is an idiot, a crook and a starf**ker
-Dorsey has the communication skills of a 12 year old girl which got him fired at KC. I think Dorey screwed up the conditions of the trade and Bill went back to him and said WTF
-Hue is a softie, clueless, nincompoop
-Haley is a drunk wacko

That all adds up to ZERO credibility in my book.

I do recall Jason Mc saying when Josh was 30lbs overweight he was still awesome thats one thing. I do believe the Skidmarks are starting their smear campaign on Josh.

I still think Josh was trying to shoot his way out of town.
So management doing a poor job means that there were no players in the team capable of and willing to be supportive of Gordon?

I’m not sure how continuing to employ someone who screwed up on the most egregious way half a dozen times and played 5 games in 3 years is a lack of support from ownership. Being smart about football is not a requirement of being supportive.

That is not a good sign.
Eh. Some of this smacks of ****-talking a guy on the way out the door - something that any Red Sox fan should be accustomed to.

Not to say that some, if not all, of what they're saying isn't true - but nor am I going to accept it all as 100% fact.

His issues are well-documented, and I'm not exactly optimistic that he's going to last here. We'll all find out soon enough.

No talking about players. They wanted to trade him

Raiders thought the same of Randy Moss
And Im quite sure San Diego didnt think Rodney could play anymore.

That would be only 61 combos. there are 103 pages
Glad to see your educational system has not let down your reading and mathematical skills.

The Browns have won 7 games since Gordon's breakout season in 2013, without him on the field.

Part of trying to keep him around could be as simple as trying to sell jerseys.

Google chimes in

Cleveland Browns teammates pledge support for Josh Gordon, but won't 'treat him like a child'

“I’m going to be alright and things will go as they should go, but like I said, I’m definitely happy to have them in and around my life in any type of way possible. Any way they want to be a part of it, I love those guys and I’m grateful to have them.”

Gordon thinks he got support.

Browns fourth-year running back Duke Johnson understands his teammate will need support to stay healthy after getting sober and intends to give him the encouragement he needs to stay on the right path.

Browns teammates discuss plan for WR Josh Gordon
Duke Johnson said pretty much exactly what slater said to which a guarantee was made here that he never had that support in Cleveland.

Former Brown has nothing but praise for Josh Gordon
Former teammate and team leader Donte Whitner effusively supoorting him today. I guess that “guarantees” he didn’t for the 3 years they were teammates.

From Gordon’s statement when he chose not to report to camp

I appreciate the awesome support I have received from teammates, friends, fans, and the Browns organization.
Browns' Josh Gordon reveals he's taking time 'away' from training camp as part of 'my plan'

Guess he lied

It goes on and on and I could add many more but I think I made my point.

The reason behind supporting him (whatever that may be) doesn’t change the fact they supported him.

No. He shot his way out at the start of TC
The guy who has been suspended for 54 of his last 64 games for erratic behavior got traded because he planned to act erratic so he could lose his job?
Come on.

Andy, at this point you're actively rooting against Gordon and going out of your way to accumulate evidence which allows you to be as pessimistic as possible about this trade. Whether that's because you genuinely think/want Gordon will/to fail -- or because you feel it necessary to double down the position you've taken -- it's clear what your position is.

Your "evidence" is no more relevant than any other evidence or speculation which has been presented that may give reason to be more optimistic about Gordon and his prospects here.

It appears Gordon has been far from perfect but let's not pretend that the Browns as an organization are particularly functional, credible, or that they don't have their own agenda.

Agreed to that. That said, let's not pretend that Andy's concerns about Josh Gordon aren't justified. That 'suspended 54 out of 64 games' isn't something he made up. That actually happened.

The Patriots really need this guy to work out, if they want to get to where they want to be. If he doesn't, or worse, causes distraction, it has the potential to be a disaster.

Are you saying players wanted him traded? That’s not true at all.

Rehashing the Cleveland history seems irrelevant. Summary is adequate.thx. as in..

JG made some mistakes and was screwed by NFL policy.. moving on.

Andy, at this point you're actively rooting against Gordon and going out of your way to accumulate evidence which allows you to be as pessimistic as possible about this trade.

This is absolutely not true. I am refusing to lie about the facts. I am accumulating evidence to show how Moronic it is to take a comment from matt slater and GUARANTEE Gordon never had that kind of support in Cleveland when there is a quote that is almost identical a few weeks ago from a Cleveland veteran teammate. It to mention numerous comments by Gordon himself saying he was well supported.

I want Gordon to succeed. That dirsnt mean I lie about the facts.
What I am doubling down on is an idiotic statement that not only was made but defended

Your "evidence" is no more relevant than any other evidence or speculation which has been presented that may give reason to be more optimistic about Gordon and his prospects here.
It’s more relevant than guaranteeing he didn’t have anyone supporting him.
I am giving my opinion and expressing my concern not guaranteeing that I know the personal relationship Gordon has with his Cleveland teammates despite evidence that conflicts with it.

It appears Gordon has been far from perfect but let's not pretend that the Browns as an organization are particularly functional, credible, or that they don't have their own agenda.
I think it’s ignorant to blame his issues in the Browns but being skeptical of a guy who gives more reasons for skepticism than any player in the league is being truthful, so I’m sorry if you think fans show pretend that everything is perfect.
