At the game on Sunday I saw a guy wearing an old, well worn Dave Meggett jersey.

Other than an Aaron Hernandez jersey, I cannot think of a jersey I would be less inclined to wear.

If this thread gets moved or deleted I will understand.

This thread isn't OT, PJ, it's Patriots-related. I saw a guy at the game wearing an old, well-worn Ted Johnson jersey.

Does Flutie count as odd because I saw a guy wearing a Doug Flutie jersey.

In 2014, I saw a guy in the Meadowlands wearing a Mo Lewis jersey. That was pretty sweet.
I bought a Mo Lewis jersey from a Jets fan at Meadowlands stadium in 2007. I don't wear it because it's the Jets but it's still a great souvenir. I dream of somehow getting Drew, Mo, and Brady to sign it.

Dream for you, Nightmare for Bledsoe. I can see Drew running to buy a new sharpie now lol.

No, I think that's cool. And Ted Johnson is OK too, IMO @Tunescribe

Meggett was a serial sexual abuser and is in jail now for decades. That's what is weird to me about it.
From Wikipedia
Meggett has eight children,[1] including Davin Meggett, who grew up in Clinton, Maryland. He went to Surrattsville High School and played football at the University of Maryland.[2]

Meggett was one of the favorite players of coach Bill Parcells, playing for him on three different NFL franchises. When Parcells coached the Dallas Cowboys, Meggett consulted with the team's punt returners during training camp.

In 1998, Meggett was arrested in Toronto, Canada, after authorities said he allegedly assaulted an escort worker after a three-waysexual encounter. A trial on the assault charge ended with a hung jury in April 2000.[3]

Meggett was the parks and recreation director in Robersonville, N.C. but resigned in 2006, after he was accused of sexually assaulting his former girlfriend.[4] In 2007, he was convicted of misdemeanor sexual battery in the case, receiving two years probation. Authorities said he was allowed to move back to South Carolina to serve his probation.

On November 10, 2010, Meggett was sentenced to 30 years in prison for burglary and criminal sexual conduct.[5] Meggett's current release date is slated for July 2034.

Loved him as a Pat.

Sub-human as a living organism

Hes a local legend and a solid guy. Not odd.

Yep, there's a road near the Natick Mall in Framingham/Natick called, "Flutie Pass" and a few years ago a pub in Framingham's "Shopper's World" called "John Harvard" had pictures of Flutie around the restaurant/pub as well as a stained glass window depicting Flutie as a religious figure with a halo....

I once saw Flutie at the Natick Mall myself and I nodded my head in acknowledgement...and he nodded right back! (Gave me goose bumps!)

I was just at Natick Mall myself this weekend. Flutie Pass!

While I have not been on the same court as him, I have it on good authority Doug is a spectacular basketball player.

That part escaped me, I thought you were referring to the jersey/player being of old vintage.

I saw a fan wearing an old Jack Tatum shirt at the game last week and...wait...I apologize. I'm lying....I'm just an old bitter fool that still carries a suitcase full of hate for that scumbag.

I like the old jerseys of retired guys. What I don't care for is 1) jerseys of former Pats players that are still in the league e.g. Chandler Jones and 2) jerseys of convicted murderers and/or rapists.

I have a blue sweatshirt that I purchased in the early 1990's when the uniform changed.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, PJ. I've also seen an occasional Meggett jersey and I've wondered if the wearers actually know Meggett's post-Patriot history. Now, I can't wonder the same way about the idiots wearing Hernandez jerseys. They HAVE to be aware of that stuff.
