Browns released Kendricks. I would too. He could serve up to 25 years if convicted. His NFL career might be over!

Kendricks and his partner "stole", what, $1.2M? Real money to you and me; crust of bread to a guy like Haslam (net worth: ~$37 billion). Haslam's company committed fraud for five years, made restitution and paid a $92M criminal fine.

A person like Kendricks can do a lot of stupid criminal sh it and come out of it okay. Steal from the financial system, though, and you're done.

Expectations are he'll serve less than a year.

I wish he was my financial advisor.

One theft doesn't justify the other.

At least we know why many teams didn't want to touch him in the offseason. And we have the added benefit of never having to hear "Bill should have signed Kendricks".

Nope.

But it will be interesting to see if the penalties for Kendricks are ultimately proportionate.

So far, Kendricks has lost his job. There's speculation that his NFL career may be over and that he might serve jail time. Meanwhile, Haslam still owns the Browns franchise.

Does what Haslam has done to/with the Browns qualify as a crime against humanity?

Hahaha. The sheer irony of this ********- Haslam's truck stop company engaged in a massive fraud scheme that hurt a lot more people than Kendricks ever will.

Odd. I thought it was more a tradition among pro athletes to get arrested for battering women and shooting guys at stoplights. Maybe there's some sort of moral renaissance going on in the locker rooms of America.

He should sign with the Giants. Then these charges will mysteriously disappear.
Or the Jesters...or the Stealers...or the Donkeys...or the Murderer-Worshippers...

Source: Seahawks expected to sign LB Mychal Kendricks, who’s facing prison for insider trading

RENTON -- After one game the Seahawks are so concerned about their situation at linebacker they are expected to sign Mychal Kendricks, who has admitted to insider trading in a case that could send him to prison.

Kendricks started the Super Bowl at outside linebacker for Philadelphia in February but has been unemployed after admitting late last month to insider trading. The Cleveland Browns immediately released him.

He is expected to sign what will amount to a week-to-week contract with Seattle for the remainder of this season, in time for him to play Monday night at Chicago, a league source told The News Tribune Thursday evening.
