New England.

But if NH somehow managed to finagle its own NFL team I'd love an NFL New Hampshire/Mass rivalry

I believe a NH team would fail like the Hartford Whalers did.

Mass has approximately 7 million people.
NH has approximately 1.5 million people.
Vermont barely over .5 million.

Connecticut has over twice as many people as NH and the per capita income like Massachusetts.

The Loudon Racers?
The Concord Capitals?
The Portsmouth Ships?
The Queen City Monarchs?
The Laconia Lakers?
The Nashua We live in NH but work in MA?
The Colebrook Moose?

i like a lot New England Patriots
Boston Patriots would have been ok IF the stadium was in Boston

B.S....ehm...better avoid any comment on this...

As a kid growing up in western Mass., I rooted for the Boston Patriots. I felt the same way about the name change as I feel about the rise of the "regional" high school: a little might have been gained from a PR and efficiency perspective, but far more was lost in depth of connection to a particular place and culture. I live in NH now and happily root for a number of Boston teams.

What name do or did you prefer? And if you were around back then how did you feel about the name change from Boston Patriots to New England Patriots? I read that supposedly in 1971 they were called the Bay State Patriots or were going to be called that but wasn't received well.

I'm from Maine, so obviously I prefer New England Patriots. Living out in California, it's much easier to be able to say "I'm from New England" when accused of being a bandwagon fan, and a lot of people out here have no idea where Maine is. I had a bank teller who didn't even realize it was a state, she thought I was showing her a foreign driver's license when I first moved out here and was setting up a bank account.

The Down East Patriots

I bet in the future this dynasty will be Rarely talked about if ever/dismissed should we fall into irrelevance.
This is a rediculous take. It will be talked about and revered as long as people care about football and sports in general... in this region and also nationally ...

People still talk about the heydays of the Steelers, Cowboys and 49ers.

We're NFL royalty for at least the next 50 years.

Most overrated city in New England by far.

My feelings may be tainted by having just spent a night at a hotel on Massachusetts Avenue.

I spent some time in Tijuana in May and as I rolled my luggage through a side street at 11pm 2 nights ago, having to wind my way around people openly smoking crack and more than a few stares, I almost wished I was back there.

Don't understand the disagree, we are the most hated, so if we were to fall off a cliff in the future what makes you think the NYJFL won't act like we never existed? Considering the probagana the last few years, media wise what makes you think they won't act act we never existed should we fall off a cliff, we would get the 50s Browns treatment imo no mention.

Silly take. Over time folks in the know will actually move into a state of awe about what the Patriots achieved.
