Of course they are not in the USA but I've mentioned them in the context of the Europe. Every kid in my country know them very well but Tom - uppps who is he ? They wear Patriots,Cowboys, Bears even Jets t -shirts but that are not familiar with their logos at all. Like I said NFL is getting more popular, but soccer, volleyball or handball are definitely more popular.

There wasn't much soccer around back when I was a kid or I might have picked it up. I really enjoyed handball, volleyball and badminton as a kid.

Nothing beat football and baseball though. I can still smell the fall air of football and the oiled glove from baseball. I could hop on my bike and take a short ride to a park and know that there would be enough kids of the same age around for a game of any kind. Those were the good old days

Totally agree with football but I know nothing about baseball. I've been watching NFL and NBA since high school although my peers had thought about football as a stupid sport with no rules.20 years later I love football maybe even more and cannot imagine a year with no watching it. I am satisfied with the fact every big city in my country had its football team but still it is in the shadow of soccer.I hope maybe someday it will change.

We played football (Nerf), baseball or wiffle ball almost everyday after school back in the 70's. In winter we would run out the water hoses between the houses and flood the field with the hopes it would freeze smooth for a hockey game or a very slippery football field. But there wasn't a single kid playing soccer anywhere. Now all I see is baseball and soccer fields. I'm curious of how that will translate twenty years from now.

My youngest son was mugged in Christchurch NZ while doing a semester abroad in the early 2000's. It was funny because when the two young muggers found out he was an American they got spooked and ran away. I guess mugging Americans was a worse crime than mugging a local. He still has a copy of the police report.
Oh no!

Pretty cool.

Watching this, I think we are all a long way from Super Bowl 36 and that fat faced kid pointing at his sisters. Freakin Monte Carlo F1 is a long ass way from Luciano's.

Brady’s hanging out with Spice Girls?!

Geri Halliwell had a kid with the head guy for Red Bull Racing. Only reason she was there.

Soccer by a wide margin. I can remember a long time ago, when I flew into Heathrow for the first time- as the plane went lower and lower I start seeing many, many green rectangles on the land below, and when the plane got closer I suddenly realized they were soccer fields. Literally a soccer field every couple of blocks.

It's just not close at all.
