As a general rule, it's not good for your starting QB to miss opportunities to develop rapport with his receivers. I don't know how that point is even arguable.

Brady is having the receivers up to his ranch in Montana in July before training camp. They'll get more accomplished there rapport wise than they would in these voluntary OTAs

More? Really?

Tom isn't running The Junction Boys 2 up there y'know....

Are Patterson, Britt, Hogan, Matthews, Dorsett and Mitchell, McCarron and Berrios invited?

How about White, Sony, Burkhead and Hill?

Allen? Hollister boys? Other TEs?

How about the coaching staff? Who is helping these receivers with knowing the offense?

Brady is spending more time on his future. That includes his family and business activities. It's part of the price he's paying to Giselle for playing. Ya he's kind of pissed at Belichick too. None of this is going to stop him or the team from being great this fall.

He'll be on page with his major receivers, the other one's are going to have to earn his trust as always. To me that is earned on the field with pads and in competition.

How happy can Tom Brady truly be seeing all these bozos signing 25 million
dollar plus contracts with all that guaranteed money?

I don't think he is at all.

He can force a trade at any time.

Not if he wants to win. There is no other option out there that needs a QB and is a serious competitor for titles. And as mentioned dozens of times before for a person who is notoriously picky about trusting receivers it might not be the best idea to switch OC, system and every single receiving option at the age of 41.

This post is ludicrous on so many levels not the least of which is the fact TB12 instantly makes every team a serious contender.

For the playoffs maybe - not for a championship. This isn’t basketball.

Nope but TB12 is that good. He might not win but any team he goes to would have a serious shot.

At this stage in his career? Will he be taking this system with him or is he going to play under another OC? He will need about two years to get acclimatize and by that time he will be 43.
He is all the Patriots have and the Patriots are all he has for a decent shot.

I can think of a dozen teams with solid rosters, functional coaches and mediocre QBs who with TB12 instantaneously become SB contenders.

You know who they are.

Its extremely arguable and in fact easy to see how it could be a good thing. In the long run a happier QB > a QB with a bit more chemistry with his team. Why does this have to be explained over and over?

Your position is that it's a good thing for a QB to miss opportunities to develop rapport with his receivers...I disagree, and think that's a position you can only take if you tie yourself into absolute knots to support anything that Brady does. And I'm pretty sure that if ANY other QB in the league skipped opportunities to work with his team you wouldn't prioritize his happiness over taking advantages of those opportunities.

So strong disagreement, but made worse by the "why does this have to be explained?" bit, as if your position is such an obvious one, when it's anything but.

this forum has a huge contingent on ****ises on it that worry about every little thing

..But it's good you're so measured in your responses, though... o_O

Brady and Gronk are getting mentally prepared.

His best shot is probably here. I don't know how long it would take him to fully acclimatize to a new system or how long it would take his teammates to fully acclimatize to his system but I know he's good enough to win despite not being fully acclimatized.

You diddnt grasp what I was pointing out. Never a good thing to miss practice, in a vacuum.

I grasped it just fine. You’re saying Brady missing time with his team is ok if that makes him happy. I disagree.

Again, I would rather TB play for the pats at discount, and want to play for several more years because he is making small compromises for his family, body, mind etc.

The potential of him skipping some optional activities could be outweighed by him making some changes and extending his career.

Do you think attending the OTAs would shorten his career?

Squeaky and the douche gonna have a field day with this if we have an early season loss. “Think this happens if Brady was at OTA’s? I don’t, Mike, I really don’t!”

Maybe it’s about time Tom and Bill go on Jerry Springer and figure this thing out.

I think what would shorten his career is him not having the ability to decide which optional workouts he can and can't participate it. He decided not to attend some optional workouts this year. Does it make the team better per say...no? Do it make for a better overall long term situation....perhaps.
