However, the number of players on a 53 man roster that were not drafted in the first 4 rounds is NOT insignificant.
The odds may be 1 in 3 or worse as one goes form 5 to 6 to 7 to UDFA, but the point remains.
And the average length of an NFL career is like 1.7 years. Most of those guys are interchangeable bodies. Mere presence on an NFL roster does not a good draft pick make. And yeah a lot of UDFAs and 5-7 rounders end up as contributors in the aggregate, but the numerator is swamped by the denominator.
