How Focused is Gronk?

I disagree. Are you implying that those issues went away? I assure you that time has exacerbated all issues

Of course I actually lived in the Times we speak of. If you believe social issues have become easier, it’s clear you did not. Education is more important than I thought
I lived in them, also. Integration, race riots, assassinations, Vietnam, the draft and on and on. Not saying they're aren't major issues today, there are. But, the 1960s are nearly universally regarded as the most socially tumultuous years in our country's history.

I respect Gronk a lot,he deserves better money. However I respect Patriots more and although very often it is hard to fathom BB's way of thinking I will support him as our coach. He has established some rules and players should be familiar with them and respect them at the same time. We of course do not know exact truth about Gronk and BB relations but I know one thing. If Gronk crosses the line and breaks one of those rules BB won't hesitate and trade him. The leader is only one and BB cannot let players feel they are untouchable even they are superstars.

If that’s their sole reason, that’s pathetic. It’s time to move on and turn the page to a new season and a new opportunity. The greatest HC of all time made the wrong call. It is what it is.

I think it’s much more likely the fact that they’re both underpaid, definitely feel under appreciated, have had their personal trainers taken off the sidelines and out of the building, and that those issues were compounded with the SB situation, which was one more thing that pissed them off.

I disagree. After Super Bowl 46 when Gronk and Matt Light were dancing shirtless, the overall feeling was "they weren't taking the loss seriously, they don't care." Now, when they are upset about losing the Super Bowl and are acting in such a manner, it's pathetic? I just do not agree.

I'm glad they are still upset, even if that's just part of the reason. They should be, especially Brady and Gronk. BB called them out on their trainer not doing a good enough job (wrong), then suspended said trainer from the sidelines (understand the reasoning, but in my opinion not the best idea), then benched a very good player and kept him on the bench even after he saw it blowing up in his face. This is the gamble Belichick took, and he's dealing with it now.

I'm not even on Gronk's side in this. That **** yesterday was immature and just plain stupid. But I get the lashing out, even if I don't agree.

Assassinations, Vietnam etc sounds just like now. I can’t soundly argue this though as I agree that the 60s were an epoch for the ages

If whining about the Butler benching is their sole reason, as you suggest, then what is the end game?

The Butler benching isn’t “the reason” for the discontent. It’s just that prior to the benching they could justify having to put up with a ton of **** Belichick did to them because they believed “well, at least at the end of the day he’s going to make the right football decisions to win.” But him making such a god awful decision with Butler opens the door for “well if he’s going to blow all of our hard work due to his own ego trip there’s no way I’m putting up with him anymore.”

Gronk is building his brand -- same thing that TB12 and JE11 are doing. He was at a (sponsored?) event and was free to discuss what he was doing there. I know media had to ask the question but they should of expected this response.

It's the offseason, as many of you have said.

What do you suggest as a solution? I've read all sorts of posts
excoriating Belichick, but every time I ask if anyone is in favor of firing him, I get f###### crickets. What's your take?

So, you’re saying that neither of them play as a Patriot this year?

Phil Jackson has 11 rings (two as a player). Red had 16 (7 as GM).
Phil Jackson played a limited roll as a substitute on the first championship team and did not play at all on the second (look it up). Phil's had arguably the greatest player of all time in Michael Jordan. Then in L.A. he had Shaq and Koby. How did he do when he had to start from scratch (NY)?

Again, are you in favor of firing Belichick? Stop being a ****y and man up.

He’d be missing out on catching passes from one of his best friends and greatest QB of all time. That could potentially be a negative that is seen. If he goes to say, the Tampa Bay Bucs, Cincinnati Bengals, etc, his production could decline.

His production may well decline, but his pay would go up

He has a couple of rings....he’s been playing at least until the end of January for 7 years

New money would more than make up for who’s throwing to him
