Patriots 2018 Hall of Fame Finalists Announced

All the nominees are great. Richard retired five years ago; Matt six and Mike seven.

Fairbanks, Francis, Gray and Adams not only contributed more to the success of the franchise; they pioneered winning in Foxborough and established the Patriots as championship contenders in the post-merger era...Champions, but for Dreith.

That the owner was financially inept and the team, just like today, inundated by baseless denigration and bias from the media and opponents has nothing to do with them.

Key contributers with rings deserve it more than key contributers without. Think about the fact Seymour got robbed of a title with a none holding/choking call just the same as Dreith robbed the older cats you mention and this was after already being one of the best players on 3 winning teams.

There might be a few guys who unjustly slip in before some of the older guys but Seymour and all 3 of this year's candidates aren't in that category.

Seymour.

Seymour was a dominant, great Patriot. He along with Ty Law and Rodney Harrison were the best players on those Patriots defenses.

Nothing against Light or Vrabel ( who to me was ridiculously underrated) but I think Rodney should be in before both.

I’d say Seymour, he has Pro Football Hall of Fame potential (although not likely, Jimmy Johnson isn’t in and Dungy is..).

I love Mike. I love him. But inducted before Julius Adams?

No.

Matt's a great Patriot and a good guy. But him before Leon Gray?

No.

Richard's a great player. He fought to get fairly paid, and that's good. But before Russ Francis?

No.

Anybody from this century not named Tom Brady before Chuck Fairbanks?

No.

Guacamole in your strawberry shake?

You get the idea.

Tough ballot this year. I voted for Richard Seymour who was so dominant on the DL, and who was the first player of the Brady-Belichick era that I thought they should have done whatever it took to keep him here.

I could have easily voted for Light or Vrabel. The ballots for the next decade plus will be very difficult to sort through as there will be a deluge of deserving players.

Seymour played at the highest level of the three. Vrabel was the most consistent and the best performer of the three in the post season. Light played the longest and was the only one to play all of his career here.

It's close but I'd vote for Light with Vrable a close second and Seymour 3rd.

You're seriously overrating what some of these old timers did. Adams and Seymour are about a wash when considering the regular season. Throw in the playoffs and it's no contest. That's not Adams fault but it is what it is. Light and Vrable are both more deserving.

Gray should get in not only after Light but after Mankins, Koppen, Vrable, Seymour, Welker, Faulk..............
