Color rush uniforms not coming back to Thursday Night Football

Never watch it but, I gotta say that's a bit of relief. Even the promos featuring those "color rush" unis gave me acid flashbacks.

Still won't watch unless the Pats are playing, though. Sorting the recycling and cleaning out the cat litter box are generally more exciting.

seemed to be invented by someone who didn't care about football.

If we could only get rid of Goodell
New York, NY (AP) October 16, 2018 - Roger Stokoe Goodell, the commissioner of the National Football League since 2006, was found unconscious in his home last night, and pronounced dead by EMT's who arrived at the scene after a 911 call from his wife. Home security footage recovered and reviewed by local police has confirmed that Mr. Goodell died of suffocation, as he was apparently attempting to pronounce the phrase "elephants of integrity" in an apparent speech preparation. The city coroner reports that Mr. Goodell's tongue became lodged in his throat.

The news of his untimely demise triggered raucous laughter and public celebrations throughout Massachusetts and New England. One celebrant commented, "I can't believe that clown managed to do so much damage to our sport in only eleven years. This is a wonderful moment for women's rights, and athletes' welfare and protection."

When asked whether he thought league and national bias against his team, the New England Patriots, would diminish, the man responded, "I'd like to think so, but I'm not fooling myself. The league's owners will probably elect another clown just like him. We'll probably get our third first round pick stolen within a year."

Wow football is ruined. Are kickoffs next?

Rams acquire Brandin Cooks in trade with Patriots

Brandin played for us way back in the early 21st century, during the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era. He caught the winning TD pass against the Texans at old Gillette Stadium on 9/24/17, with seconds to go on the clock. Many people today do not realize that during this dynasty, the team wore the ridiculous, silly fake logo hastily conjured up by NFL Properties at the behest of James Busch (Meet Me in St. Louis) Orthwein just a few months before Brandin's birth, less than a year before Robert Kraft bought him out, an image virtually identical to its ancestor "proto elvis" which received what remains today the loudest booing in the history of the Patriots in 1979.

Hated by real Patriots fans, New Englanders and even opponents, the flying elvis, regularly rated worst among NFL and even all professional sports logos along with its corresponding Arena League reject uniforms were in fact embraced by many in the Boston area, even as they simultaneously complained about the same league stealing draft picks and leveling outlandish punishments on the team for imagined infractions. Today, of course, the only vestige of the impostor logo is as the butt of deserved ridicule, and receives raucous laughter whenever someone wants to reference a completely insulting, terrible notion, prospect or idea, usually suggested by the totally ignorant, as a cheap gimmick.

I'm in the minority but I despise the throwback Pat Patriots uniform. Just too bright for me.
Then how about the 1990s colors with Pat the Patriot on the helmet? I would love to see that given a shot.

Thank God you're here, Actual Patman!

I can sleep soundly, knowing that you remain vigilant against the Threat Of The Last 20+ Years of Patriots History!

Not bad at all - the bright blue is actually quite interesting and would stand out real nicely on the field. That being said, the dark, navy blue just feels the best for me.

Here's a classic winner in a history of classy threads from our out-of-state friend, just days after the disaster in AZ in '08:

Blah blah blah blah Comcast blah blah blah blah Eagles Fan blah blah blah blah charlie brown...

Months and months of it! Hey, that's what the US Senate needs!

Second chance for losers -- gee I wonder if you can sell that product in America.

Guess what, though? 31 teams lose every year. And most of them never did get up the mountain. In fact, none of the ones the Pats beat have been back. With the exception of the Rams, that was the one and only shot they ever had.

And wouldn't it be music to your ears, to hear that the Giants didn't win because they beat us, they won because they cheated? CHEATED! Evil, evil Giants! Especially had we not already grown cynical to the way these allegations work?

Oh yeah, this country hates us. The more uninformed, the greater the hate. And the average American thinks Elvis is still alive and Angels control their destiny.

We can all get used to this crap for the remainder of the offseason, our resident trolls will bask in it, etc.

Not a prophet of doom here, just trying to explain something: this is no longer an "investigation" of any kind, it's a torchbearing mob. Any fact will be reported/interpreted as proof against the Pats, and any lack of evidence will be interpreted as evidence of cover-up. We are well into the modern equivalent of Torquemada's territory.

Toughen up guys. It's bull crap - so come here and vent about it. Whatever floats your boat. But bear this in mind: you only have to consider in your heart what's proven. And from what I can see, that ain't d1c k -- other than that the Pats have done what at least 3 other teams have done, and probably a great number of others.

Any jackass that comes at you with that "tainted" bullcrap -- including your sunday sportscast -- can kiss my big white furry behind, until and unless there's substance to the allegations (and yes, this must be shown to be non-selective enforcement at this point.)

So... people will not like us. People are irrational panicky herd animals at times, I'm afraid, and a ravening wolf pack at other times. In reflective times, people are individuals. Bear in mind that sports rivalries, politics, and propaganda wars over network rights are not usually the breeding grounds for such somber reflection.

A month and a half later at the owners' meetings, Bob Kraft stood up in front of everyone and...

[did the only thing any self-respecting human being having been put through what he and his beloved "possession" had the previous seven months could do: He turned around, pulled his trousers down and bent over, screaming "Kiss it you ****ing ****heads!!!"]

...tearfully apologized.

And I thought I was incoherent *in* context!

Whatever point that was supposed to prove, I don’t get it. In fact, if all that’s even mine, I am not sure what the purpose of reposting it here is.

I guess you’re getting no love in your campaign against the “new” unis or something?

Truly bizarre

Yours was a thoughtful and truthful post in the wake of one of the worst losses in team history, and that's comforting.

Kraft's apology soon after that is self explanatory. It's perhaps the worst moment in the history of the franchise.

Oh. I got confused. Yep that was a special time :/
