IIRC, Waddle injured the ankle during wk-12, was out wk-13, and then active, but mostly on the bench for wks 14-17. I think he played a handful of snaps in a couple of those games - testing it out, probably.

Anyway, it was just a matter of the Pats playing the healthiest player.

He is unproven to you because your only outlet are games on Sundays. The coaching staff has been around him for 2 years. He is not unproven to them.

The position will likely be addressed in the draft next month. Any tackle worth trading for would’ve been nothing more than an expensive, short term band aid.

Had it been like last year with 65m to spend, things may have been different.

This front office is not exactly known for broadcasting it's trade talks. In keeping with the Russian theme, Stalin's Kremlin had more info leaks than Belichick's Fortress Foxborough has. As for the roulette part of it 'management' has failed in certain areas in the past (WR, Reche F Caldwell as a 1???) but their track record when it comes to putting together an O line has been pretty damn solid. Unless you think 18 years is too small a sample size and the jury is still out .

Cam Fleming was listed as the starter at RT in the Super Bowl but I didn’t realize Waddle had an injured ankle and don’t recall him on the injury report.

Boy, I took for granted how good we had it when we had Fleming and Waddle as backups.

You guys can rag on Fleming all you want but our OL in general, not to mention lack of depth, scares me.
