Yeah people here are kinda paranoid. Same thing happened last year when they centralized instant replay to the league office. It was all a huge conspiracy to screw over the Patriots. Then NE benefitted from 3 prominent regular season instant replay overturns which took away touchdowns from opposing teams.Remember when the NFL instituted its policy to take any player off the field if they appeared to exhibit any concussion symptoms? And most of this forum freaked out about how it was going to be used by the NFL to screw with the Pats? Well fast forward a year, Brady goes down hard at the start of the tying drive in SB 51 and is slow to get up. Looks kind of woozy. The perfect time to put the fix in. Nothing happened.
This will be similar.
This (proposed) new rule seems to be a compromise between what the NCAA does and doing nothing.
