Best Point Comparing Brady vs. Rodgers I’ve Heard

Thanks for editing out my all caps, I got a little too carried away

People see Aaron Rodgers and see the perfect QB in theory. Can make all the throws, can run the ball, scramble, etc... But what they don't see is that for all the talent he has he just isn't THAT effective to be in the same conversation as Tom Brady.

If Rodgers is that dominant... Why isn't he a more than 2 times MVP and always among the best in voting like Brady? Because Rodgers just isn't as consistent or effective as Brady. That's not even counting how Brady led ,bar 2014, some not really great defenses to the Super Bowl and even won a title 2016, in the last 7 years.

Rodgers might be the most gifted QB I've seen but not in the same discussion as Brady.

Rodgers is current version of Marino

if the opportunity arose this morning, I would dump Brady in a heartbeat if I could get Rodgers

They're both awesome. Brady doesn't need to be compared to anyone. He's in his own echelon when stats/awards/wins are concerned.

I don't see the need to downplay how awesome Rodgers is to make Brady look better. Brady doesn't need any help.

Rodgers is a helluva QB, and a joy to watch. I'm glad we get to see both of them carry the QB standard.

logical fallacy
Not really. As a player Rodgers is far more comparable to Steve Young. Great accuracy but also some of the best scrambling ability and talent to throw on the run. Peak Steve Young and peak Aaron Rodgers both were probably two of the best pure physical specimens to play the QB position. Also they followed up legends and have a single Super Bowl title to their name.

The closest comparison Brady has (even though I think Brady’s far better) is Montana just the guy you want at the end of a game

I haven't heard a better argument beyond 5 >1.
From Starr to Brady I've been fortunate to have watched some truly great QB's and I've always felt in spite of people finally starting to come around Brady doesn't get his full due because too many people don't understand what they are watching. Rodgers is as physically gifted a QB as I have ever seen, he's Montana like in that regard and that translates when you watch the games. Marino was the best pure passer I have ever seen, his talent was hard to miss and something to watch. Brady isn't the flashiest, he isn't the most exciting to watch for the casual fan and he sure isn't running away from many tacklers. What makes his game is all above the shoulders, he sees the field at a higher level. And that (versus a cannon for an arm, a blindingly quick release or great legs) is something that can stand the test of time. In fact it actually improves with it.

so coaching has nothing to do with it? Mccarthy = BB?
Edgar Bennett = Mcdaniels?

LOL
